Strongest tranny?

I remember seeing some one selling just stealth trannys on ebay. I picked one up for $35 shipped, I looked the other day since I've sold mine to a friend and he had two up that went for $30 and $35. I'll try and find a link to his ebay profile.

True, I just looked, I could get a stealth tranny, with a 3.0v6 for $500, that would surely move my rig around. It woud REALLY be time for axles tho....

Yup, thre's one with a day left on it 6 bids and $15. We'll see what happens.

I seen that one but didnt think it would work, but I guess it will if youre mounting your motors on GD-600's

yeah the e-maxx tranny can take loads of abuse, you could also use an e-savage transmission however I'm not sure how durable they are.

My hyperion brushless motor has trashed an R2, and 2 emaxx trannies, on a 2.2 rig.

Well the e-maxx trannies obviously didn't have metal gears. Once a e-maxx tras has metal gears it is pretty much bullet proof.

ok, halfcab, so when I look for stealth, I get rc10-gt, stealth, TC-3 stealth, heck, I think My 1992 rc10t has an upgrade to a stealth, but I wouldn't consider it to be very stout. There is also dodge stealth, but I won't go there.

What does it take?

OK, master trasher, what kind of tranny do you suggest?
I haven't found one yet that will handle my powerplant. My pede tranny lasted all of 30 seconds.
I have changed my driving style to compensate. I also pulled 4 cells out of my battery pack. I had to gear back up to compensate for the lost wheelspeed. The only reason I haven't broken another tranny lately, is that motor has been sitting on the shelf. It is going back in the truck tomorrow, as I have almost finished the rebuild.
One thing I have heard said in my club is, that the "race" trannies like the Losi and Stealth and such, are designed to handle more power than the "sport" trannies like the traxxas ones.

Trust me just get a e-maxx trans yes they are big and bulky but ive ran mine in my super for about 3 months now and there are no signs of wear. if you do break the stock gears just got with metal. That tranny will outlast the truck.

Dual 55 turns on GD-600s into a TXT tranny and you're having problems?

You only need one 55 turn and a GD600 on that rig.

My Hydraulic Scorpion is running a single 55 turn with GD-600 and I've got plenty of torque to pull that 13lb pig around.

The only time I've destroyed a TXT/Jugg tranny was years ago with a ModelTech brushless system on 12 cells.

Ralph and the Scorpion both run TXT trannies and neither has had an issue (and Ralph has been known to go home limping on a regular basis  )

It all comes down to the old equation: Torque x Traction = Broken Parts.

If you tighten up the loose nut behind the wheel the parts breakage will decrease.

THANK YOU, I did a search for txt transmission, not gears, I guess I'll know better next time. Hawnmt is already hooking a brother up on gear replacements, but the way tamiya is dicontinuing everything, i wonder if I should stock up?

Although I do love their parts list. a bunch of generic screws and pinion, and aftermarket driveshaft, limited stock of tranny cases, and late july (a.k.a. never) axle cases and that's it.
