Super Brain 969 Charging Tips?

Hello all
Just got myself a Super Brain 969 Pro last week. Today finally got around to fiddling with it. Curious what settings folks use that have these chargers. Batteries I will be charging are:

One 6 cell rated at 2000mah (nicd)
One 6 cell rated at 3600mah (nimh)

Want to charge these correctly in order to get the most out of the packs. This is my first "fancy" charger with varibles that can be set. Previous chargers were just plug and charge type deals. Any input would be great.

Thanks!!!!

I have the 969 and the instructions that come with it are a pretty good guide as to what the settings should be. I am not trying to be a smart ass, the instructions match up well to what I have heard a lot of people say as far as what the set up parameters should be. Just don't use the instructions on charging Li-po's, unless your instructions are updated. The MRC website has an updated version for charging Lithium batteries.
The 969 tries to be a "plug and play" type charger by guessing what the parameters should be, but when I plug in a dead 6 cell it occasionally says 5 cell and I will just change that.
I don't think you have to manually switch anything to go from Nimh to Nicd, the charger senses what type of battery you have.
The only thing I have to change every time I plug in a battery is the charging amperage (which is explained well in the instructions) like 3 for a 1500mah pack, 4 for a 2000mah, etc.
For my 3000mah nimh packs I use 4.5amp (the highest setting). From what I've heard, 4.5 is pretty low if you will be racing. But since you want to get the most from your packs it should be ok.
I hope this helps in some way.

Thanks for the info Sven. I've read through the directions a quite a few times, still digesting that information :-). I'll figure it out sooner or later ;-)

I just plugged up my charger to go through the set up steps.
1. When I first plug in the battery the charger shows the voltage of the pack.
2. Push the Display/Select button and it shows 3.00 Amp for the charge amp, for your 3600mah pack set it to 4.5, the 2000mah can also be set for 4.5 because it is Nicd.
3. Push the Display/Select button again for the next setting which is the cell #, set it to 6
4. Next is the peak threshold setting, for the 3600 set it to 30mV (6cell nimh x 5mv). For the 2000 pack use 45mv (6cell nicd x 7mv)
5. Next is the charge mah, set it to 3600 for the 3600 and 2000 for the 2000
6. Next it shows the time, mine always says 40.0 minutes and I never bother to change it because the charger always peaks and beeps before then. So I just leave it.
7. Pushing Display/Select again brings you back to the volts, which is where I push the Start button to begin charging.

Try to get all of the settings done before you begin charging, because once you start the charging it takes a while to scroll through the menu (you have to hold the button for a few seconds to change menus).
Another thing is if you use the included power supply, you can not charge 2 batteries at the same time with a combined Amp of more than 5.
That's all I can think of for now, but if you have any questions please ask.
