Recently acquired my old T-Maxx back from my brother and am wanting to make it an electric crawler. I have been cruising around looking at build-ups and just want to get pointed in the right direction.

1. What stuff should I keep, what should I sell?
2. Can I use my Tmaxx trans?
3. What electric motor and batteries?
4. What servos?
5. Is it worth it? Should I just sell it and start new?

Thanks for input good or bad!:flipoff:

to start with you should read this thread:
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12386
evrything you need to know for the most part is in there and accessible through the links

here's a couple more useful links:

i shouldn't answer these but here ya go:roll:

1. What stuff should I keep, what should I sell?

both front and rear set ups (bulks, towers, arms, diffs) should be kept. the radio and receiver should be kept.

i would sell the shafts and knuckles and get REVO stuff. alot beefier

anything connected to the chassis itself (enigine, linkage, tank, boxes, braces) can be sold

2. Can I use my Tmaxx trans?

YES, it's in that first thread link. motor mounting is deffinately an issue with the t-maxx tranny though. i suggest selling it and getting an e-maxx tranny

3. What electric motor and batteries?

easiest way is to use lathe motors. integy or eagle racing. (35t, 45t, 55, 65t, or wrap your own)

or a GD-600 and a reversible motor (mag mayhem most popular)

4. What servos?

hitec 645 (most popular), towerpro 995 (newly being tested, there's a thread), 1/4 scale hobbico cs-80 (lots of torque, good price, but huge)

Is it worth it? Should I just sell it and start new?

depends do you want one or not? do you have the desire to build? why start new when you have most of the stuff.

if you just read that first thread and not just look at pictures all this stuff is in there. sorry to sound a little harsh but reading and searching would answer all these questions:?

THANKS A BUNCH

I have been reading through stuff but just haven't found many Newbie friendly write-ups. I just needed the specific parts that you listed. Maybe I have been looking in the wrong places but the write-ups I have been reading are very specific and are only about one piece/upgrade and not a complete writeup/build. Also neither of those links worked???:?

Many beers and cheers to ya! Anyone looking for some Tmaxx engine parts?

those links are sticky threads at the top of each forum. they aren't that hard to find. if the links don't work go to a specific forum and look at the top 2 or 3 posts. they are stickies with all the good basic info you will need

your welcome
