So after thinking about one for quite a while, searching around here for info, and probably driving OSRC crazy with questions... I ordered the Bronco last night.

Tower hobbies:
CC-01 Bronco
bearings
80-turn motor
traxxas rod ends
1.9 rock creepers
robinson racing 16t pinion (metric)

ebay:
hot racing steering kit
losi mini crawler 1.9 beadlocks

I thought about cvd's and the aluminum motor mount, but decided to wait and try it with those parts stock.

Plans include using a sidewinder esc, 200 oz metal geared servo, aluminum horn, and trimming the steering stops off.

Did I miss any must-haves?

Can't wait for this to get here and start building it. 8)

Soo.... the wheels I ordered came today.... and I am not too happy.
I thought these losi mini wheels were beadlocks !?!
...Well unless I am missing the obvious..... they are not. They have rings that come off, but appear to have normal bead/channels for glueing just like normal wheels.

Advice/suggestions?

I was going to go with the axial bead locks, but was told the screw heads would hit the C-hubs.
That kinda' surprised me since there were so many pics of CC-01's with them in the CC-01 pic thread.

The ones on my bronco are axial 1.9 and run a little ... I would get a set of 1.5

Like these?

If so, I don't have any issues hitting the hubs.

Can't see your pic because I'm at work (lol).

I was looking at some other wheels on ebay and wondering if the RC4WD tires would be fine with them (I know pro-line tires usually require there own special internal ring). Basically looking at a lot of the cheaper ones.... lol ... but then again a lot of them are high-mass... which is nice.

CC01 Land Cruiser 40...removed stock mtr and went to 80 turn as you did....extended run times and smooth..runs mostly in the house. Did bearings all the way around..servo bearing next. If i see a deal on the Bronco, i will own it.:)

I believe the MRC pro wheels are a true beadlock. The standard mrc wheels can be made into a beadlock, with some 1-1/2 pvc pipe rings I believe. I did it several years ago. I don't remember the specifics. I know I read about it here though.

You could try the Hot Racing style or RC4WD wagon wheels. They are fairly cheap on Ebay these days. And a cheaper option is the Gmade 1.9 beadlocks.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. :)

I've looked at the wagon wheels, but most seem to be pin-drive and I'd like to stay with 12mm hex. I have been looking at the g-made wheels too and... maybe...
Another wheel I'm looking at is the one's that come on the twin hammers.
They seem to be plentiful and cheap, and thoughts on them?

I did a search and found the thread on making the MRC wheels work, but I dunno... not sure I have what I need to cut the rings out.

Now I can see Dirt Runner's pic, and yes, those are the one's.
Is your steering modded for extra throw like I'm planning to do?

It could be that the image is just a representation of what you'll get. I would email the seller to confirm. The wheels look like jeep wrangler wheels.

Amazon has a great selection of wheels with great prices. That is where I ended up getting everything you see my cc01. I bought the bronco kit through tower hobbies.

I think those flow better with the look of the bronco. I have alientac universals and the lower plate that holds the control arms. Fitment and quality seems good for the price.

Dang Andy, I wish I could have posted sooner about the pin versus hex mount. Actually the pin mount are a better set-up and provide better engagement to the shaft and less slop from hex to pin to hex to hex.

Those wheels look awesome though and the price is great! "thumbsup"

Thanks Jeff!

One of my crawling buddies has the wagon wheels with the pin drive and he has problems with them. They wobble (like the are loose or something) and what not no matter how tight he has them. Dunno' what the issue is, but I prefer hex wheels anyways.

I ran an 80t motor for a while and I really lacked power, I've since put a 3:1 GRU with a 27t motor and it's night and day. It's not much faster but boy does it help overcome the Cc01 tall gearing when crawling.
