Tamiya CR01 Crawler

What a crock!! I'm a few hours away from Nurnberg but you can only go if you are a licenced dealer. Oh well, I was actually looking forward to going on sunday, my B-day BTW, but I guess I'll just stay home and wrench on some of my projects.

That's MSRP. Losi LST2 had a $999 price tag when it first annouced. It will be a bit more than half that price.

This makes it quite clear why Pro-line had to discontinue the FJ40 then. It's a bit hard to compete with a huge company showing up at Toyota's doorstep with a truckload of Yen.

I would guess Pro-Line had to discontinue the FJ40 for the same reason they had to discontinue the CJ8 and the VW Bug bodies....producing bodies without liscensing from the 1:1 auto makers.

I'm glad I still have the fj40 still in the bag unopen and unpainted,,I'll have to keep it that way a little longer."thumbsup"

I wonder if this was the plan the whole time...replacing the tlt and stuff, or if they really are trying to enter the crawler scene....cant wait to get more updates on this.

I like the suspension especially the spring mounts. It locks like it is going to be $300+!! That is nuts!

Hmm I could get a $300-350(land cruiser) that is kinda scale and performs OK or I could spend a little more and get a totally bad ass super scale high-lift or spend a lot less and get a way more capable crawler like the AX-10. I don't mean to just totally bash them but I can't help it, why have a truck that is a little good at lots of stuff when you could buy a truck that does one thing awesome. Think about this: Yeah a crescent wrench will loosen a lot of nuts but when it comes down to it your better off getting a set of regular wrenches! Tamiya is spreading this truck a little thin and based of the price tag they are pretty proud of themselves.

Sorry to rant but Tamiya really pisses me of sometimes.

this new rig from tamiya will only help advance the hobby of rccrawling even more IMHO.

Would you want a wife that was a good cook but lousy in bed? Good with kids but a slob around the house?

I love my crescent wrench, and my vise grips(wife) "thumbsup"

It is still to pricey for me but you make a good point I guess some people would rather have a little of both scale and performance. Its just not for me I guess!
