Tamiya M1025 Hummer

"This is a 1/12 scale kit of the Army M1025 Humm-V multi-purpose vehicle.
(although this is listed as "1/12" scale, it actually is similar in size to
Tamiya's 1/10 scale off road trucks)."

as read from the website.

That quote always kills me... it's like they don't understand the word scale.

so it's "scale" but more like 1/10 rather than 1/12

No. the hummer is a bigger vehicle in real life, so when it is 1/12 scale it is similar in size to the 1/10th scale trucks they have.

yeah well leave it to the professionals to tell it like it is. just like the pros over at clodtalk.

One of those will be my trail rig... The one thing I don't like is the indy frt/rr suspension but I'm sure I'll get over it once I get it built, locked and on the trail...

I had one of these hummers years ago and it is more like a onroad half rally car the an off road machine. Even short grass was not fun to drive on because it slowed the truck down. Now maybe when modified it will preform better but i still can't see if being fun on the rocks. but if you decided to get one, order and gear diff for the rear because mine came with a ball differential in the rear and get an alloy prop shaft to replace the wire one that is stock.
