I have been toying around with the idea of a stadium truck basher. I don't like the stampede or traxxas trucks and I am starting to use losi trannys in my rigs. SO, I was just curious to those of you who have this truck, the losi xxx-t matt francis series, is it a good truck? does it hold up? is it brushless worthy? what is a fair price to pay for one? roller or complete? Thanks in advance for any input.

I have the XXX-t, and before I gutted the tranny it was a pretty good ride. It is just about the same as a t-4, and both do OK with high power brushless. How much power are you thinking? The slipper and diff dont really like more than 1hp max in my experiences.

Pricing- cant help you there. I would give about a bill for a used roller.

Why don't you like the Stampede as a basher? I have both a Stampede and a Associated T4 and the brushless Pede is hands down more fun as my brushless T4 for out right bashing fun.

The T4 & XXXT has a more low profile stance which is great for racing, but when you want to wheelie and bash through just about anything with a 2wd, the Pede is the ****.

*** Disclaimer, you need to know how to set up a Pede properly to get the most out of it.

I have been braking all my pede stuff with lathe motors, so i figured I better get something stronger for brushless.

braking what in the pede? I will agree that the stampede is a better basher compared to the xxx't. I have a lehner 4200 in the pede and it hauls ***- on 12 cells it hits over 50mph. I havent broken anything besides shock caps and the chassis (mounting holes stripped out)

You have a tranny and drive shafts in your crawler from a Pede. Big difference in applications from crawling to bashing.

Yes I have had to replace parts on my Pede basher, like the diff (from extreme abuse of brushless drunk bashing), broken stub shafts and A-arms (again, probably had to do with all the beer consumption).

Not only is my Pede basher more reliable then my friends MGT, it's also faster.

x2, I have an all aluminum pede with a brushless motor. It is the only rc I have had that my kids haven't broken.

I wouldn't catagorize the pede with the XXX-T or RC10 trucks. I'd be more apt to use the Rustler.

The Pede is a damn fine basher...perhaps THE best basher out there. We sell a good number of them through the LHS and rarely have somone that needs parts.

Losi rigs tend to have stiff suspension components. The main problem with that is that stiff=brittle. We sell a good bit of Losi parts.

We've had a good number of guys melt the final output gear in the Losi diffs (especially on the XXX-NTs), but that's more of a setup issue than anything.

I've had two MF XXX-Ts. They're great race trucks, but I wouldn't classify them as good bashers.

If you want a good basher, get a pede, install an aluminum idler gear and stick in something like a TR2 and a 15 turn...or a brushless setup.

Thanks Guys, that was the info I needed. I will look for a used pede roller and go from there. I have a jack azz guy I work with who has a 3.3 maxx nitro and says that there is no way an ecltric shiat box like mine will beat his in a race, SO I am out to build the fastest, baddest azz brushless 12 cell pede to whoop his candy azz! :flipoff: Is it possible?

Once you get the pede transformed into more of a stadium truck, you'll never drive anything again!

It would be pretty easy to build up a stampede to outrun a 3.3 max. Not all that cheap, but no more than paying for a new slimer engine. A 3 or 4 cell lipo would be the best, but you could make it happen with 9-12 cells too. The only problem would be your weight. It gets harder to control a 12 cell bullit.

alright, the search is on, build the brushless 3.3 maxx azz whooper! :flipoff:

I race and bash my xxxt MF2 and it lives. Havent broke anything yet and it makes several trips a week to the local BMX track to get beaten on. Only issue it has is keeping the tires on the ground in the front. With a 10X1 and M3 gladiators it gets crazy tracion and takes delicate throttle control to keep it under control.

If you're looking for a basher that can still race, I would suggest the T3. It was my first car and about a year after having it, I got a Stampede because I thought it would be a better basher. Well, some 5 years later, I still have the T3 and sold the pede many moons ago because it couldn't handle the stuff I was doing with the T3.
