So I'm fairly new to upgraded esc's I have always had castle products. I can get a Tekin RS spec gen 2 esc and 17.5 motor brand new for a great price. My question is if this is a good esc for the Bomber? I figured I could always sell the motor and get a HH motor. Any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated.

The Tekin RS Gen 2 is a great little esc, but not sure if it would be suited for the Bomber.
I run the RS Gen 2 and a 13.5 on 3s in my SCX10 JK. It does great in my SCX10, but I think it might not be enough for the Bomber.
You're going to be limited on what type of motor you can run on the RS Gen 2.
If you're wanting to run a Tekin esc, you might be better off with a RX8 or a RSX. Even with the RSX, you're limited to 2 pole motors.

thanks guys, I have been doing some research since i posted this, looks like I will be going with castle, price tag is not near as high. I have found a few Mamba Max pros for under $100. then get a motor. thanks for all your help

okay so I read the RS Spec will only run 2s lipos. I run 3S on the bomber now. woul dlike to stick with 3S and I guess just get a different ESC. I have another lead on a RS Gen 1, would this be good?

Hey desertdude. Do you get a good wheel speed from the Roc412? And what esc are you running? I was thinking RSX Roc412 on 3s. Thanks man."thumbsup"

I'm running a ROC 412 1800kv with a RSX ESC on 3S. I love it, I've had zero problem with it other than hogging because I didn't have the sensor wire plugged in all the way.

The thing has tons of torque and wheel speed. I do have the over drive gear set in my front dif. I've also got it geared pretty low at 18/88 (I run Robinson metal spur and slipper) I'm about to drop a couple teeth on the pinion to go bit lower.

I upgraded the entire drive line so that I don't have to worry too much about things breaking. My guess is the ROC 412 would easily tear up the stock plastic spur gear and probably cause the plastic drive lines to twist fairly quickly as well.
