Tekin RX8

Would the 2250 be too much?

How much more speed will i get with the 1900 + spc 820@ lipos over a stock summit running 3000mah nimh?

R I am using the hitec 4x ac

But I have two sons who run rc with me. If you areby yourself then look for one of their 2 battery chargers

Onyx ( in my opinion) is not as great. Most chargers have industry standard controlls and the Onyx uses dots and lines to signify batteries. Not difficult but their are simplier ways to show information. But the main reason is that onyx lacks the programability that higher end chargers have. Mainly discharge and cycling of batteries. As you get more and more into electric vehicles YOUR GONNA WISH YOU HAD PONIED UP THE FUNDS FOR A GREAT CHARGER IN THE BEGINNING. Im on my 3rd and 4th charger now and I am finally satisfied. My Hitec for fast multiple charges and my powerful Bantam for charging those big lipos. And ps, used chargers dont sell for nearly the amount you pay for them. So get a good charger so you wont waste money latrr.

2250 kv should be fine. I use a 1900 kv with very low gearing. Speed aint my thang. But 2250 will do fine. Dont worry about speed 2250 or 1900 both will easily get you nearly 40 mph depending on tires and gearing ( on 4s lipo) again 6s is overkill and not needed. Stock top speed is 22mph.

Your next issue will be better tires. The stock tires, great for climbing, wil be very wobbly near 30 mph.

So 2250 would be good. What kind of tires?

I installed the Tekin rx8 with he 2000kv truggy motor a few months ago. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!!! I'm geared stock..top speed I would guess is approximately 10mph over the stock brushed motor. Great control and no cogging in low gear for crawling. I can run my 8000 Mah SPC 2s lipos really hard and the motor temps are nice and cool.
It's just what I was lookin for....a little more speed, maintained crawling ability and increased efficiency.

So its down to either

1) 1900
2) 2000
3) 2250

Which of these is best for me. I am looking for smooth crawling, which all three options will give AND an increase in acceleration/top speed while keeping my truck stock gearing & not break anything in the tranny, etc.

Bottom line, I want to keep my truck stock and looking for an increase in speed!

So its either, hmm tough decision!

1900 or 2000

Either of them will give you 35mph plus. After 35 mph you have to sacrifice crawl ability to keep the truck stable. I run the 1900kv for the extra torque and can still run over 30mph. Currently I have it geared so low ( 11/72) so top speed is like 25mph. But on stock gearing top speed should be mid 30's on 7 inch tires and still with great crawling ability.

But dont linger over the decision, you will not notice a great difference in any of them unless you had another tekin for comparison.
