Tell me this isn't an awesome deal (warning: Venom)

Seems kinda large for a 3300mAh battery, but I could be wrong because I don't usually run anything that small. 4200mAh shorties are the smallest that I normally run.

I stumbled across this on Venom's site. I was interested in a few more 2200mAh 3S, when I saw this. And 3300mAh at 30C. For $20!

Tell me why I'm wrong for buying two...

Venom packs, some people swear by them, most people swear at them. Venom is a big supported of the RC community locally, which is really cool. But, I have seen too many people have problems with them to take a chance on them. I would rather pay more for a pack and know it will have a good service life than go cheap and have problems.

I bought two last year when they had a similar sale, I run them in my SC trucks and my crawlers that I have yet to convert to shorty packs.

Not too impressed, one is already partially puffed and the uni plugs suck, I had one stuck so bad I had to cut the wires and replace the battery and esc plug.

Not sure where they are made, but the company is in a little town in Northern Idaho about 30 minutes from me so I feel bad not supporting them...

I bought a Venom combo too last year that included that 3300 mah 30c (3cell) batt. Guess they always have a big “sale” too push their product. So far it’s been pretty good. Run times are long and variances in cells is never far off, I’d rather not compare them to my Gens ace or Gforce batteries though as they are older and still very healthy after big impacts in bashers etc.

A $70 battery for $20? A one year full replacement warranty and a lifetime partial warranty?

I'm curious why this isn't an awesome deal. Do tell. 8)

I just haven't found another battery that specs to this with the same price.
That is NOT a $70 battery in anybody's world. Well unless you're an idiot that buys MaxCRAmps batteries.

30C is weak. I don't buy batteries that low anymore so that I can use everything in go fast rigs if I choose to do so. There's no reason to buy a low C rating with the cost of batteries these days.

I don't know if they stand behind their warranty.

I'll keep my Turnigy batteries. Here's a better battery for the same amount of money. And it's 60C versus 30C.

I have seven 2200 3s 20c packs for my crawlers and have only had one problem. They covered the battery with a bad cell no questions asked. I do have a few older ones that are slightly puffed, but I also used to store all my batteries fully charged.

That said I have been trying tattoo 3s 1050 75c packs. They were on sale for 12.50 shipped on Amazon prime a while back. They also only weigh like 98 grams. Perfect for my toyzuki.

I would not run these in a short course truck for multiple reasons. First is capacity. Second is the amp draw...refer back to capacity to figure constant amp draw.

C rating is bunk on all manufacturers anyhow. Who knows who is telling the truth?

About a month ago I bought a pair of 5000 mah 3s lipos on sale for $38.99.
When I received them they went on the charger, first one swelled up like a balloon. They warrantied it.
The second one one took a charge.
I ran the second one one run, when I recharged it it died.
They warrantied it also.
2 batteries, what are the odds.
So far so good with the replacements but I still don't have confidence in them lasting.
I've got 7 year old E Flites that are still doing great.

Those are not good odds.

I have numerous Turnigy batteries that are 5 years old. I've only had one Turnigy battery die prematurely over the years. Something internally came disconnected. That could have been from an impact in a basher. The rest are still going strong.

Except it's a 15C with a MAX of 30C... idk if I'd wanna run that in a Mamba X.

Gens Ace doesn't fake their ratings while people have had Venoms puff w/o exceeding their ratings. Personally I've had Gens Ace batteries with lesser ratings than SPC batteries go faster in a high-amp boat, and SPC was known for good ratings. I charge at 10A and discharge well past 150A.

I got gens ace 2200 25c for 15$ a Piece on Amazon. They work great.
