I am a huge VW fan and my daughter needed a little rig to play with when she gets older. My son wanted to help me build it and I was storing the parts away but he insisted we build it now. What the heck, right? Building is fun.

Not much of a build thread yet, but as things start to wear or break over time I will update it.

New tranny and axles. Opened them up, greased them and added metal lockers. Nice little upgrade to stock components.

I had a VW Baja Bug body and thought it would go great on this build. I don't really like the stock Losi MRC body.

I added the Losi upgraded chassis in red, aluminum transmission cover and rear aluminum lock outs. +13 offset wheel wideners and HPI stock car rims with Losi (blue) Rock Bashers. I added Losi aluminum threaded oil filled shocks and took the blue spring off and used the Losi black springs all around.

My son and I tested indoors and it works great.

Color is a metallic purple on the inside and flat black on the outside to give it a little toughness. I still need to detail the engine and wheels.

Huge VW fan here as well!!! LOOKS AWESOME!!

been thinking about getting a bug body for my mrc as well... but my wheelbase is stretched and i'm worried about how it will 'fit'/look.

GREAT JOB!!
