The San Jose Sharks going on to round 2

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We made it! WHAT?!?! Western Conference Champions! Quite a ring to it. 4 victories. And the Cup is ours. It's been a VERY long wait, but we're hungry!

Did I call it in 6 or what "thumbsup""thumbsup"

Now the fun begins...I think it will take 7 games to bring a cup to SJ

25 years....

First game tonight... "thumbsup"

Go Sharks

Oof, that was rough. First was horrendous. Second & third was ore like it. Halfway through the third I thought, "next score wins it"...sure enough, minutes later. Bummer. Burns & MRartin were on point all night...hell breaks loose when Burns loses his stick...

Yikes! Sharks down 2 games to none. Winning 4 out of the next 5...IDK...possible but highly unlikely. Sorry boys, nice run.

(just a little friendly banter fellas "thumbsup")

My call was SJ in 6.... If Sharks and keep from turning it over so stinking much they could win the next 4 in a row.

Four of your top players have played in all 102 games this year. two of them are 31 and the other two are 36. You guys are old, never be able to keep this pace up. It's been stated the Sharks have the toughest travel schedule in the league, all that has to catch up sooner or later.
I think the Sharks look a step too late already through two games and the Pens are relentless with their speed. Like 18 Black & Gold Energizer Bunnies (or Penguins), lol.

Good luck boy's it ain't over until somebody win's 4.

Meh...2-down
We can win 2 at home and be even...always thought it would take 7 anyway

GO SHARKS...."thumbsup"

For sure. I'm not worried about their home games one bit. They lost 1 at home this playoff year. That was to the Kings early on.

Regardless of how old we are or how fast you are, it's come down to the wire both games.

The Sharks have size...and they haven't used it till game 3...there was a lot more body checks and usage of size....maybe they learned something. I believe it slowed them down some.

I still think it will go 7....age might show up then...

Good luck Pens fans...but I think tonight might be a blow out...

Go Sharks

Yes! Every time they got in scuffles along the boards, I yelled "put a body on 'em!" glad to see they finally listened. :)

As much as I want to believe the blowout part, I just don't think so. I have all the faith in the world for our boys, but every game has been a seesaw battle. But a great showing like a blowout would be great momentum going back to Pittsburgh & would be welcome.

They just broke my heart

I wanted the Sharks to win for my Mom and Dad

Cause My parents and Me both collected signatures to bring the Sharks to San Jose

Back in 89 and 90 its been 26 or 27 years

For them to make to the Cup

My Mom passed in 2006 and my Dad passed in 2012

The last 10 years have been pretty rough on me

And this was year they were going all the way

It did not happen and My heart was broken

Now you got to hear how much better the Pens were bullshit

They were all 1 or 2 goal games the Sharks needed to win

But came up short

And next year is up in the air cause it won't be the same team or players

Due to salary caps, trades, short term contracts, free agency, players retiring

It could years before the get a chance to make to the Cup again

My heart can't not take another 25 years

It was a good run
Fitting for the 25th anniversary....
Just a bit short....
You're right KGB....next year might not be the same. I feel bad for Thorton and Marlow

I didn't get to watch much of the Finals, but I did watch the 3rd period of last night's game. I have to grudgingly give it to Pittsburgh. They were up 2-1 and were playing like they were down 2-1. The Sharks seemed like they were stuck in their own zone. Pittsburgh just kept attacking. I think the Sharks had one official shot in the 3rd period.

As a penguins fan I was excited to watch them win another cup. I was also happy to see the sharks in the finals for no other reason then they are a good team and I wanted to see that match up.

Now on to the unpopular part. This series and the Sharks specifically reminded me of the Wings/Pens finals in 08. The Pens weren't ready for what came because they had no experience recently in the finals. The Sharks with the exception of game 5 and brief parts of the other games were out played. Just as the Wings out played the Pens. Not because the Sharks are a lesser team in any way but because their system didn't match up against the Penguins as well as I would have thought. Jones was the only reason this series was as competitive as it was just as Fleury carried the Pens in 08. I know the games were all close scores but that was because of Jones. He was by far the best goalie in this series and in all honesty I thought he deserved the Conn Smythe trophy even in a losing effort.

The reason I bring 08 up is because the Pens came back and Won in 09. I think the Sharks could win it all next year if they are managed correctly. If they have Jones as their goalie for a while they just need to re tool a bit and they will be right back in the mix in the finals.

As a fan I know it is upsetting when your team loses but the Sharks fans have no reason to be ashamed and every reason to be excited about the upcoming season.
