thinking about getting an rc F1

these are all the rage right now:

formula One EP Car, ,(SAKURA-FGX) by 3RACING (KIT-SAKURA-FGX)

but they don't have a solid rear axle so, as I understand it, they don't conform to race rules.

I'm going to get one and mount a usb micro video camera and drive it from the drivers POV from my laptop....can't wait, should be awesome!

thats the one im thinking about getting. id have to sell an upgraded sc10 2wd that i barely use first though.

tamiya f103 is wider than f104 , like old f1 cars are wider than modern ...
ther rear of f104 is better m the ball diff don't loose settings when you change tires ...
so , the best f1 rc in imho today is f104w , (i do have a f103 , Senna lotus L97 , an f104 pro black edition hamilton mclaren and a f104W pro senna mclaren mp4/6 )
run all on hobywing 21.5T sensored ...
the sakura FGX had one , nice rear susp, but too weak front A arms , if you look too hard to it , its going to break ...

sold mine before trying it ...
I've bought the FGX when it launched , used for 5 packs , broke all my 3 front A arm spares , sold with the last one installed with only 2 weeks, and 5 packs of use
than the reviews started poping and the front A arm issues wasn't only with me ...
not the best pilot , but on the tamiyas I hardly break somethig , on the same tracks , with the sames mistakes FGX was constanty breaking
from my little personal experience ( bought first F1 on dec 2011 ) on the F1s the right set of tires makes more difference than shock set ups , and chassis material , seen lots of plastic f104w running as good , or even better than F103 , or F104 carbon fibers
the aluminum motor mount is good because it don't break with crashes ...
i like rubber tires , and harder tires on front for a little under steer ...

the idea of getting the rc f1 has been on the back burner until a few days ago. i stopped by the lhs for a few minutes and noticed they had a tamiya f104W on consignment for $100. so i asked about it. after talking to an employee for a few minutes about the car i left. yesterday i went back to the lhs for help with the suspension issues in having on a 1/8 powered slash 4x4.

so i went back to check if the f104w was still there so i asked about it again. this time the owner of the car happened to be working! he told me he was selling it rtr minus battery because he needed the cash, and that he would take less.

after getting everything i went there for i made the guy an offer on it which he accepted.
