Threaded Rod Size

Ive come to the point where I need to drill and tap my links...

I bought some 8-32 threaded rod... but finding rod ends for that is near impossible...

So I guess I should go with 6-32 rod?

I've used 6-32 with maxx ends and have NEVER had a problem. Although, others on here have. I've probably built at least a dozen rigs using this combo.

I used 10-32 all tread on mine for a while. I never had any problems. All I did was drill and tap some kyosho 6.8 ball ends. These links are living under another truck now and still holding up fine; even bent for high clearence. :shock:

yeah Im just having a hard time finding the 6.8mm Kyosho stuff...

The 6.8mm rod ends should fit the 8-32 threaded rod right?

You will have to drill and tap them. But it is alot easier than you think. Maybe 5 min. of work.
And I had my LHS order the ball ends directly from kyosho.

I found a guy who has 8 rod ends and 4 balls for the rod ends...

$5 shipped. I will still need a bunch of each to do the links but it saves a little money.

I just picked up a set of 24 6.8 ball ends for $25. They a pritty cheep for what the are.

where did you get them from?

I havent found many places that carry them. And The ones Ive found are out of stock or in Hong Kong...

Check for some Hotbodies part numbers C8100 and C8098. 6/32 threads in with ease, I'm sure 8/32 would fit with a little coaxing. I can't find them at Towerhobbies, but Stormerhobbies carries both. Also check your LHS.

BFT ends and LST ends take 8/32 with ease.
