time for a new tv.....

well i currently have a panasonic 53" projection 1080i. its about 3yrs old, but it recently is having issues and i cant seem to find anyone to fix it. i guess i will probably just buy a new one.
i want to go bigger, the 53" is a decent size, but if i need to get a new one it may as well be bigger. lcd or slim projection i suppose, plasma is still too slow for me, as i watch sports and such. looking to spend under $3k
any suggestions?

yeah for 3K or under front projector is the only way you will get there. I dont see why people need these 50+ inch tv's... I have a 40" Sony XBR in my living room and it is perfect.

Setting up a front projector in any type of living space that was not specifically designed for it is very tough, if not impossible.

Either stretch the budget or go smaller.

Riiiight. Last week at work someone tried to convince me of the same thing saying my 42" was exessive and his 27" is all the TV anyone needs.

We have a Panasonic 50" Plasma and it is just the right size. What do you mean by Plasma is too slow? Are you talking about the time it takes to turn on, if so my neighbor's projection takes longer.
