I started with it stock, but just wasn't happy. The 2-in-1 ESC/Rx just wasn't cutting it. So I dug through my parts bins and came up with an AE-5L ESC. It's not a huge jump in performance, but it's better. So then I needed a Receiver, so I threw in a Spektrum SR315. And a DX3 radio. I kept the Dynomite 15T motor (Moves it OK, but could be better) and S620PM steering servo. I'm going to go to a 12T or maybe even 10T motor soon. (Brushless?) I wanted a bit more turning radius, so I trimmed down the steering bump-stops on the lower A-arm. (See Pics) The body was a bit shiny, so I took a Scotch-Brite to it and dulled it down a bit. I really wish the secondary market were better for these. I'm thinking about a different body. I'm not really digging the C10 body anymore. It's a cool truck body, don't get me wrong, but I'd like a car body, I think. OR, the 1968 Ford truck body. So if anyone out there has something that fits a V100, let me know, and maybe we can work a trade. OK on to the pics...

TT01/2 bodies come in the 257mm flavor. More car bodies but they have 2 or 3 big rig shell for them.

4K would be a screamer, and useful if you had bigger sweeping turns size area. Parking lot/neighborhood/basketball court sizes 3k starts winding out the motor but still gives you a little more grunt down low coming out from a turn.

Well, I've gone and done it now! Brushless is on the way... Maybe a little overkill, but I have good trigger control...LOL But in the end, I don't really think 3650-3900KV will hurt it to bad. (y)

I'm also considering picking up one of the Camero bodies that came stock on some models of these. But get it clear so I can paint it the way I want it. I seem to have a habit of painting a lot of my rigs a brilliant blue color. Or having all the details in the blue. (If you've seen my other builds) So I'm thinking of going a darker metallic red or even a bright metallic lime green.

Metallic *bright lime green or a metallic red sounds titts! I need one more body for a rwd chassis i picked up. Buick GNX......Yeah! Time for shoppen

GNX Bodies for RCs look really good.

Change of Plans once again. Back to the original plan of the 3900KV brushless setup.

Received the brushless setup. It's 3900KV. For what I have planned, it should work well.
Got the motor in and cut the factory shroud to fit the new motor. Letting it set a bit so I can figure out wiring management and placement of the ESC.

I figured out how to get the wiring to "Kind Of" hide itself. Wind it back and forth to make it more manageable, and mini Zip-Tie it. It looks A LOT worse than it is. Then the Zip-Tie trick to hold the wires apart, and Poof! I have some ugly wiring...lol

With as cheap as the electronics have become, I've started to cut wires, and or re-soldered new connectors and stopped changing stuff out between cars. Each is going to have its own shizzle running gear

I do the same thing. I solder on the old Traxxas connector. That way, everything runs on the same plugs. I have stock in the old Traxxas plugs, I think...LOL
