Hey meng, are those the CPB 2500 4/5As?

I can't quite tell.

Yep! I love them! My TLT had plenty of punch when them.

I just ordered some GP2200 cells also. I will have 5 different types of battery packs to see which one a really like. I am playing with the weight difference between a 5 cell SubC pack, 4 cell SubC pack, CPB 2500 pack, 18T packs, and the GP200 cells in different configurations.

And if I don't like the CPB 2500 pack I will just throw it in my 18MT.

Sweet, we need a battery wh0re around here. I bet those GP2200s are the cat's meow, just somewhat large in comparison to your others. I don't see the 4 or 5 cell Sub Cs fairing well in your comparison.

I have a 7 cell Energizer 2500 AA pack in my Clod, and they work really well. Quite light and small too, well diameter wise. Don't you have AAs in your Nylint thing? Try those too, please.

so badger, would you recomend the 18t packs for a tlt?
So far with the testing I have done so far I would say no. They provide plenty of power but the 1100 cells do not provide long enough run time for me. And the biggest downfall to them is there weight, I think my TLT climbs better with a little more weight on the front links/axle then the 18T packs provide.

i am going to try 18 t batts in my clod. i know the rumtime will go down to about 15-20 minutes but they would be for comps only.and since you only run 4 minutes a course that dont matter.

I figure reducing weight from up high, and then adding the difference to the wheels/tires with lead, or BBs would be the ticket.

That was my original plan, but I don't know if the TLT axles/stub axles can handle the additional weight without breaking more often. And with a slightly heavier pack on the links I just don't see it worth the trouble to add weight to the wheels/tires.

These are smaller then the SubC cells that almost everyone runs.

Badger, how long of runtimes do you get with the 18t packs?
It depends on how well they peak. I have three packs and only 1 comes close to peaking at 1000-1100 Mah, the other two always false peak at closer to 600-700 Mah which does not provide good run times.

I think on the good 18T pack I have it might have lasted maybe 10-15 minutes. I really didn't time it. The other 2 packs seemed like they did not last long at all.

I have decided on a final pack for my TLT.

I like these because they provide enough weight to the front of the rig for climbing and breaking over steep ledges. I can also run 7 cells for more punch and still be under the weight of a standard sub c 6 cell pack.

I charged my 7 cell pack at .5 amps for the first charge and it peaked at 2700+ Mah. The battery lasted for over 2 hours while crawling!

The dementions of this 7 cell pack are:
1 1/2" wide including the Deans ProBar 3.0 and shrink wrap
5 1/4" long
7/8" tall
1 5/8" tall where the 7th cell is

I highly recommend these cells for TLT crawlers.

2700 mAh!?

Where's the little velcro soul patch go? Top of the servo?

Yeah no kidding! My GP3700 packs from cheapbatterypacks.com peak at 4100+ occasionally.

Yep. It keeps the battery from sliding front to back during crashes, and keeps the battery from sliding to close to the motor and shorting out on the endbell.

yikes! Nice batteries.

And to think I started the hobby with a 6V 1200mAh pack that weighed and looked like a brick. I thought I was the $h!+ then.

Witch 18T packs are you trying badger ? The stock ones I presume. I`m useing the GP1100 packs for my 18 in the TLT and get an hour most of the time, usualy no less than 45min . Frkzilla is running the same batts in his TLT with slightly higher gearing and getting about the same results. Both with Lathes. The GP1100s have also been tested to 40 amps according to the info I have found.

The mounting flexability is nice too.
