TQi Transmitter no throttle? HW Fusion SE 2-in-1

I have a TRX4 with an upgraded Hobbywing Fusion SE 2-in-1 brushless motor / ESC.

Everything works fine a different transmitter/receiver, but when using the stock TQi transmitter and receiver everything works but the throttle.

I got this used and I’m not sure if the throttle trigger works or not. When I switch the steering and motor, the motor works with the steering control, but the trigger does not control the steering.

I have tried to calibrate the ESC with the TQi, but it is not working. I never get a yellow confirmation LED blink when setting the ranges of the trigger.

I’m thinking the receiver or transmitter is busted, but is there any way to confirm? Any other steps I can take to try to get the TQi working. My other receiver does not enough channels for all the features of the TRX4.

When I turn on the car, it beeps like normal but then it blinks red rapidly, which means “throttle signal not detected”

When I swap the motor to channel 1 (steering servo channel), it does not blink red and the light stays green. This is when the throttle can be controlled by the steering wheel on the TQi.

Rebind the ESC, reset as much as you can and hopefully Ch. 2 kicks back in. If not, a new receiver usually fixes it based on what I am reading.
He said he swapped the steering and esc on the receiver and the throttle worked with the wheel but steering did not work with the trigger. That points to the transmitter being the problem.

Looks like you can pick up used 4 channel TQIs on ebay pretty cheap or you could take this as an opportunity to upgrade your radio.

On most TQi RXs, there are two CH1 ports, followed by the Ch2 port. Have you made sure you are plugged into the right ports?

Or the channel 2 in the rx is bad. The swap doesn't show whether the input (tx) or output (rx) is bad just that something in that channel is bad. Am I missing something?

If this is a transmitter that you can reprogram the switches and controls to different channels then you could program the trigger to use channel 3 or 4 to see if it's the tx or or rx. But if you can't then you need to change one of the two pieces of hardware out and rebind, etc.

At that point it may or may not make more sense to buy a new tx/Rx all together. I'm not familiar with Traxxas electronics costs or availabilities.

Yeah it could be either. I skipped my 2pm coffee today.

If you have another traxxas radio setup, try binding a different tx.

Hi having the same issue, changed the motor but no throttle, tried everything said on here, rebinded the controller but still nothing did OP manage to solve the problem? Or anybody else able to help

Welcome to the site!

Did you calibrate it per the instruction manual? Did you ensure the wire from the Fusion is plugged into the correct channel on the receiver?

Thanks for your reply, yes done both, have also reset the motor as the instructions, at a total loss as what to try next
I'm all out of ideas then, sorry. Did you try your old ESC and motor with this receiver to verify it didn't somehow die during the transition to the new motor?
