I picked up a second TF2 and wanted to drop/lower the truck for a Lowrider style build. Any ideas on how this can be achieved? I was hoping someone might have done this and can help out. Thanks"thumbsup"

I've been thinking of slamming a TF2 too. Maybe flatten the springs and shorten them. Then put the axle on top of the springs and add the bluemonkey 5mm lift blocks between the axle and springs if it still sits to high.
Been trying to figure out what kind of diffs would fit in the axles to unlock them too.

I built this rig once upon a time. I mostly just utilized the TF2's Mojave body though. I imagine it would be a bit more difficult to tuck some solid yota axles.

Absolutely insane, to both of you.
I've often wondered this myself, and you guys proved it looks pretty cool.

Yup have to say , dumped and In da weeds is way cool... All you need is some hydros on those rides, which my friend has done to his, he removed the shocks and replaced with mini servos and used his gyro and a 6 channel radio and that thing hops, three wheels and drags the front or. Rear which ever you prefer..
Good luck on the tf2 dumping...

Well, after taking a break from life, I decided to take a look at my Traifinder2. I have several off-road rigs and wanted something different, so I did this to my TF2:

Not too sure how I feel about it at the moment, but it will stay like this for a while...btw, I am still using the TF2 Chassis "thumbsup"

i would guess that the axels are upside down on the leafs and the body is dropped with an upside down lift kit. i could be wrong on that but thats how i would do it.

correct...I just flipped the axels.

Very cool! if you want a true scale slammed and stanced hilux the front should be converted to independent suspension and 2wd. It would be sweet if the back was 4 linked and c-notched too! Maybe put the back half on cantilevers with mini servos to drag frame

Very cool, I have thought about doing a drift truck using the rc4wd 2spd transmission for the scx and od gears in the axles so it'd be a ripper. Something like the jdm Dotson trucks.

If you would like to lower the truck and still use leaf spring approach, get some u bolt kits and mount your leafs on the bottom of the axle for sprung under! And you can flatten out your spring some! Or get 58028 OG hilux springs if you can find a set!

Cheers,

Michael
