How much grease should be applied when building the front and rear transmission cases? Enough to cover the teeth of the gears? Liberal? A lot packed in?

Cheers

Don't pack it in, its not fudge! :D

Just cover the teeth. I always went liberal an always seemed to have too much in the end.. Since then I got some black n tacky an its bad ass! A few stops per gear.. Rotate a few times an the gears are coated.. Stays on too!

Hahaha!

I've been using red grease (auto stuff) and I always find it throws itself off the gears :S

Is the black stuff you use Losi stuff? I have some of that that I may try, real sticky stuff.

About to order some black and tacky now!

Thanks heaps guys!

How just one last question, roughly how many packs/ comps/ hours before you service your gear boxes??

I guess that all depends on how anal you are:lmao:. I haven't checked mine in quite some time. That reminds me. Thanks.

I don't pull mine apart unless there's a need to.

I did pull them apart a couple weeks ago to add VP upper mounts and they looked good. It had been at least four months since they were greased last and that's comping once a month and practice once a week. So with that schedule 4-6 months easy probably more.
