I am thinking of getting either the traxxas summit or the axial wraith, can anyone tell me which is better? Anything helps

Depends on what you plan to do with it. The summit is a brute, fast and tough but expensive. The wraith can be fast but meant more for crawling of trail riding. Both have substantial aftermarket support witch is a plus. The summit requires two batteries when the wraith only needs one. Because of the summit's size the aftermarket parts are also more expensive. The two trucks are in different realms one is a scale crawler/rock racer and the other is more of a basher. I would personally go with the wraith but that's my preference.

Hi all

First post, hopefully with some similar insite. My friends and I fly and race fpv quads but wanted to try something different and get into rock racing, not 100% sure what to get I bought a summit s/h at half price couldn't say no really but my friends bought wraiths, racing together there is a difference, the summit is huge, looks like a 1/8th due to its axle width and tire size. The summit seams to have the advantage in most of the places we've driven but it has been closer to crawling over sharp jagged rocks, this could be due to inexperience and the summit having 2 gears. I will be getting a wraith purely to keep all the vehicles the same style and size and they do look very kewl. Mr friends like doing suspension flexing on my summits tires I suspension flex on their roofs..

Hope this helps

imo their 2 completely different trucks. if your looking to just bash go for the summit, if your looking for a technical highly moddable car, go with the axial.

I have both. If you're out with mostly scalers, stick with the wraith. The summit crawls over things much larger and can get boring when used as a crawler as there isn't much it can't cover with ease.

which is faster?

Depends on the systems in both trucks. Even the box stock Summit is moderately fast in high gear, about 20-25 on 4S if I recall. It will still handle at high speed better than the Wraith as well though.

Depends on how your going to beat on it. Again, I would wonder what your friends have. What kind of place your going. Describe a bit what you want to do, then they can help a little better on here.

It will be mostly for trailing and a small bit of crawling, but I want to be able to bash and jump every now and then. But over all it will be for trailing. Can the Titan 775 motor (traxxas) work with the axial wraith in stock form?

Well a Wraith with a 775 would be a beast. I haven't gone to upgrade motor on mine cause I haven't broke it :)

I'm pretty sure that the stock esc needs to be upgraded for the 775 to work with, someone will chime in if I'm wrong.

A 775 motor won't fit in the Wraith. 540 stock, 550 will fit with some adjustments.

What adjustments?
And for clarification the 540 will fit in stock?
Now I understand, but what 550 motor would you recommend if I don't want a problem with not enough torque but still want to go fast?
