I recently purchased a traxxas tq3 radio system on ebay with the third channel switch installed. The receiver has 4 ports; B, ch1, ch2, ch3. What is the B port for?

B port is for battery input if your using in a nitro car that has a separate battery for the reciever where as an electric gets its power through the speedo

how about a BEC connector?

well a BEC can go into B aswell its only a bypass for the BEC built into the speedo as they are not adjustable like some external BEC's

of course remember to take out the + lead on the speedo connector going into the receiver
