Traxxas TQi bluetooth question

I'm curious about the bluetooth module for the Traxxas TQi radio system. If you make adjustments then take it out and move it to another radio do the settings stick? The stock menu tree system is a slight PITA but not horrible because it's free. I might be willing to get the bluetooth module though if I can setup multiple radios with it since I know a number of locals with the stock radio.

I'm contemplating the module as well. The below was posted by calcagno45 on my Traxxas TRX-4 Bronco thread.

The app is literally so easy a caveman could do it. Snapshot below of adjusting the steering:

Could be wrong but I’m fairly sure the settings would remain if you take it out of the radio. The Bluetooth module is just an interface to the brain board on the radio where the settings are saved.

Go download the app from the AppStore or Google store and play around in it, it’s free. That’s what sold me.

It will save a number of configs by merely choosing another name. I ran 3 trucks off mine before I got my Futaba. Not full featured, but enough to get you by. My biggest gripe is the module always seems to need and perform an update when I use it.

Hang up and Drive

I'm also fairly certain the settings would stay, and in theory you should be able to program other rigs with it after you pair it for each of the different ESC's.

I have to say I was a little disappointed with the lack of in depth settings with their app but you can do basic stuff and it is a lot less trouble than doing it manually. I mainly use it to check the battery life of the TX now but I had expected it to be like Castle link in its features, and to be using it more.
I wish they would add a drag brake setting, that alone would make it a lot more useful.

That seems odd, I cant recall ever being asked to update, maybe once.

Thanks, I downloaded the app and searched around in it and found it too. It’s called steering “sensitivity”.

So making the radio apply enough reverse to hold the motor in place? Sounds like we're mixing Radio responsibility vs ESC responsibility.

Agreed, it does the basics. There's no channel mixing, 2p 3p or linear switch settings, MOA settings, etc. but to me it sure beats the blinking light menus. I use the app heavily when I left my 4yr drive the TT01 on road car. I can quickly dial back the throttle for him then crank it up for me.

Your right I'm expecting the impossible, I guess I started off on the wrong foot when I assumed it could do what castle link can do, I had high hopes for it.

Oops I didn't realize that was in the module too

That sounds like it would work.

X2, I had high hopes for it bought it as soon as available and am very disappointed in the little it does. Only thing is it's way easier than Traxxas' clunky PITA beeps/blinky light transmitter settings menu tree.

I dont' use it for anything once I got steering EPA set. Should have come already installed.
