Traxxas XL-5 and lipo's

people are saying that they don't like each other, been running mine for about two weeks now and seems to be ok. or will this kill my XL-5 sooner

set up:

Traxxas XL-5 waterproof esc
2200 mah thunderpower 2s lipo 30c
trxxas 2075 waterproof servo
DX3E radio

That ESC should be able to handle the voltage from a 2S.....however, I dont believe that it has a low voltage cutoff. So you need to be mindful of the voltage of your pack and turn the car off before it drops below 3.0V/cell....or you can install an external LVC.

thanks a bunch, i'll just keep an eye out for now, i always carry a multimeter with me whenever i go for a run to check for the voltage. Hopefully soon i'll get an LVC."thumbsup"
 
I use those with lipos all the time, and they are fine fine fine for years. I also use a lipo buzzer/alarm (ebay or jns.com) and the lipo cutoffs that work inline with the esc DONT work well on a traxxas esc.
