Is there much difference between 9T and 11T pinion gear?

I wanted to get a 45T Spur gear and a 9T pinion gear. My shop only had an 11T pinion gear for my TRX4 Sport.

I have no clue about gearing. Is a 2T difference that substantial?

I use this truck for competitions. So trying to get the best performance out on the rocks.

Thanks!

About 2 teeth.

:lmao:

9/45 I what I run in my trucks - first gear is very low. I like it personally.... all depends on your power, tire size, driving style, etc. 2 teeth is a noticeable bump, but not a ton of difference imo. Try it and see! Always good to have a variety of pinions on hand, some motors seem to like higher gearing (Holmes Crawlmaster) and some work better lower (Holmes Trailmaster)

Since you dont have the 2 speed you might not want that 9 tooth pinion as it takes away top speed in favor of creep ability. I think you'll be happy with the 11/45 setup.

I recently swapped in a Surpass Hobby 35T motor, jumped up to 17t pinion. Slightly quicker than stock, but with TONS of wheelh-standing torque and decent low speed control.

R.C. means both;Remote control, and Rock Crawler.

If u hook up a trailer and throw my Ridgerock on it, if i punch the throttle the Sport does wheelies.

Stock sport is 39/17 I believe? So 45/11 is quite a bit lower geared already. I would run that first and see if you want more, specially with the sport single speed trans.

Appreciate the input! "thumbsup"

This is strictly for comps. So I don't mind if it's slow.
I'll try the 11T and go from there. A little speed would be a good thing if I'm running out of time.

Thanks!
