There the current updated chassis layout. I cut the stock locker servo mounts in half so I can relocate each servo individually. Cut some sheet aluminum out and glued the mounts straight to it with some E6000, the servos are still removable and serviceable without ripping off the glue. The rear shifter is in a bit of an odd spot so the cable actually goes under the battery tray and the angle is fine, no kinked shifter cables.
I also bought some 4s 65c graphene racequad packs on clearance, couldn't help my self, they were only 10usd each. So while I was at it, I swapped in a 2400kv 3670 castle motor I had lying around. The servo mound need a bit of modification for this long boi to fit. I would definitely recommend an aluminium servo mount if anyone decided to do this as it requires shaving off quit a bit of material (4-5mm), the plastic one would just become too weak.
With that motor in, I also bumped up the gearing a bit from a 9t pinion to a 11t to get some top end back. Although not as smooth as the HHpullerpro 3500, this has just alot more torque as you can imagine. However, still no drive train issue with the stock transmission, it continues to impress me.
The 4s upgrade also gave a good torque and speed bump to the servo. Although it's not technically listed for 4s lipo, the jx bls12v7146 has held up great so far. There are signs of wear tho (from general use, not 4s related), there's now noticeable slop in the gear train due to worn out servo case (where the center pin sits in the case) that causes the gears to wobble side to side.
With the new batteries being only, 1300mah, the runtimes are now around 40-45 minutes for mixed trail and bashing. Not much shorter than the 2200mah 3s I was running. Plus they are also lighter.
The current set up with batteries now weights in at about 9 pounds. A bit heavier than I'd like but works fine so far
