i am finally starting to venture into the world of making brass bumpers and sliders for my own rigs.

at the moment i am trying to make a tube front bumper for a 1.55 clod. nothing fancy but more than just a straght tube with other pieces mounted to it and the chassis. im using 5/32 brass solid rod and a soldering iron. i already got a tubing bender and a cutter.

my question is, how do you guys know were to put the bends in the rod to make it fit around the outside of a body?
any tips/ tricks would be a great help!

I'm gonna say, center your bumper with the body and mark the piece a little past the outside of the body. You'd need to figure out what size radius you're wanting to go with. Using 5/32 rod, you should be able to bend that pretty tight without any issues. What kind of bender are you using?

some pittsburg one that i got at harbor freight

I use .085 aluminum wire, form it the way I want it to look on the truck and then just copy it. you might have to practice a bit to get the right bends.
