Hi all and Happy New Year!
We are constantly upgrading our Redcats and we went out yesterday to see how our latests upgrades would do in the absolute worst rough terrain we could find.
My friends Redcat has been upgraded from a Sport to full Pro spec and gained quite a lot of weight. He kept the original sport springs to see how it turned out.
Mine has a Horri-Bull body, portal axles and a 1Tenth RC servo mount so I won't have to deal with all the bump-steer and axle-sway that the portal kit introduced.
It has also lost quite a bit of weight and I ran some Axial black (softest) springs on it and it went quite well although it suffers terribly from torque-twist.
Another thing I've done is to make my own foam inserts since the Redcat Pro inserts freezes and becomes hard as rocks in our cold climate. I ran my 85mm and
they seemed to work perfectly and the best part is that they are not affected by our cold weather.
All in all, a fun day.
