understanding over, and under gears

Hello,
from doing some research
I found out I need the 36/14, and 43/13 gears, but what goes wear, and is their a noticeable difference when crawling?

43/13 (UnderDrive) in the Rear

Big difference in turning radius and less tendency to flip over backwards when climbing steep inclines.
Some will say too much wear and tear with the offset ratio. I've always run the set up and love it... and beat on my rigs.

Yes, I've run OD front/stock rear in my Honcho.

Stock front/UD rear in my Wraith.

For me OD/UD is a little too much. I use the HD heavy duty sets front and rear after the stockers wear out.

I run just under in the rear, stock front ratio, with the XR mod, this bit makes quite the difference!

It nothing you would do with a 1:1 truck, more so if it saw pavement, with the rc's I can see where it could be quite advantageous, certainly on steep inclines.

i use the UD in the rear and stock in the front, the OD gear set doesn't have much bite and I can see where it would ave a tendency to strip out if there is slop in the bearings..

I ordered a set of the stock ratio HD gears today, I am fortunate enough to own 2 scx10's so I will try both the over/under gearing in one rig, and stock HD gears in the other.
It would have been nice if the stock gears in my G6 kit were HD gears, the ones in my wraith, and yeti kit were better than the cheep stock gears, I got the cheep one's in my G6 kit, maybe a mistake at the factory, no worries problem I have them now. I will be starting my build Friday, will post pictures on the progress..

Which Wraith has the HD gears as stock components?? Mine in the Wraith kit were the same as the SCX10 kit (part #AX30392). There was no mix-up at the factory, your G6 just has the stock cast ring/pinion gears included with all the SCX10 and Wraith kits and RtR's.

To the best of my knowledge the only thing that comes with HD gears is the Yeti in kit form and I'm 4 Axial kits deep at this point.

This one, I just got it 2 weeks ago, they were the HD ones not the cast ones, they just didn't have the ratio stamped on gear.
It came with Axials method wheels also, I no that was a mistake.

Could be a recent production change by Axial.

The Wraith kit I bought in January was in the same box, included the wheels pictured on the box and the stock cast gears that come with all the previous kits and RtR's (Wraith and SCX10).
