Upgrading a car to a brushless motor and ESC - am I doing it right?

Hi,
I have WLtoys 12428 and I want to upgrade it to a brushless motor.
I saw in a YT video that the following motor&esc fits the car:
https://www.banggood.com/Racerstar-....html?rmmds=search&ID=514648&cur_warehouse=CN

As I understand I also need an RC to bind to the ESC so I plan to buy this RC and receiver combo:

My questions:
1. To bind the RC to the ESC, do I need to connect it as in the picture?

2. Same for the servo? (I want to buy 12428 compatible 3 pins servo):

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/400...earchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_

3. How the receiver gets its power? Is it from the 3 pins from the ESC?

4. Did I miss something? Remember I'm a noob so I don't know obvious things

Thanks all! I'm very excited to start this little project :)

if you go down the brushless rabit hole be prepaired to break alot of parts you can get upgraded parts for the vitara twin hammers

ya your gona need a new motor prferably sensored
a new esc brushless sensored
a new servo and radio+reciver
the upgrades will cost more than the original rig and thats before replacing broken parts
your almost better building a twin hammers right from the start and using the wltoys till you have the new rig built

The servo goes into slot 1 of the receiver. The ESC goes into slot 2 of the receiver, as shown in the picture. It's important to recognize that the servo needs to be a 3 wire servo, which I don't believe the 12428 comes with, so you'll need a new servo too. The receiver gets its power from the ESC, via the 3 wire connection that also has the control signal.

Ferp, the 12428 is a 1/12 scale truck and shares no parts with the Twin Hammers. The 10428 is the 1/10 version that does share parts with the Twin Hammers.

I have a video that covers the electronics upgrade of a 10428. My upgrade was a little bit different because I kept the original brushed motor, but I did upgrade everything else. It may be useful to you:

So apparently today the forum is being bitchy with the youtube embed code. It's always a 50/50 with this site...

What do you mean by rabbit hole?
High maintance? I actually want to drive on mud. But I plan to open the motor after each time and clean and oil it.
