UTB18 creaking rear axle?

Hello all, I have a quick question for ya. I have a new UTB18 4WS. I've noticed over the last few runs that the rear axle creaks pretty loud. I have no idea where the sound is coming from because my working ear is almost as bad as the one that doesn't work. It only does it when the weight transfers to the rear axle on a climb. I've taken it apart and nothing seems out of the ordinary. Has anyone had the same issue? Part of me is wondering if it has anything to do with the rear servo mount or the weight of the servo on the axle. It's a 299lp btw. Thanks in advance!

Oh that would have been smart but no, no I did not. I put Dlux links on it so I am sure I got something goofy in there. Oh well, at least I have something to do tomorrow.

If it only happens during weight transfer I'd also guess links or a driveshaft. If it happened all the time I would guess a frozen bearing.

It turned out to be the links. I fixed it for the most part but there is still something left. I think it's due to the high clearance rear links I pit in. I am gonna mess around with it a little more before I call Dlux and see if they can send me some straight rear links. At least I am on the right trail. Thanks all!

Links, zwo, drei, fier! Die eier sind hier....

see, links, not rechts, that was it?

if your rod ends are plastic leave it they will break in in a short time if there aluminum get plastic ones
Nah they are Ti replacements and I am working with the manufacturer now to sort it out. I can say for a fact it's not the links as I put the stock ones back on and it still does it. Weird. It did not make a peep before the links and now even going back to stock it squats like a goose in heat. I am about to put it into time out so it can think about how it's acting.

Sorry I misunderstood what you were saying. The rod ends are Traxxas rid ends on Dlux Ti links. The stock ones or at least the upper links are all plastic from ball end to link. I thought that was what you were referring to or at least that's what was in my mind when I replied.

Problem solved. I picked up a DXC+ yesterday and I had to open the Capra up to bind it. While in there I looked at a couple things. The front drive shaft was out of phase by two splines. I clearly messed that up sometime earlier. I also noticed the front drive shaft had a popping feel at the transmission. I fixed the phasing and tightened up the driveshaft and that fixed the issue. My guess is the out of phase drive shaft put a load on the universal wearing it a bit. Anywho, I plan on ordering some driveshafts for it to further put the issue to rest. It's such a fun little truck to drive when it doesn't sound like it's ripping itself apart.
