Walked into my lhs today for some odds-n-ends and was looking over their display twin hammers. Looks pretty cool but seems kinda orphaned out there with the solid rear/independant front. The owner ambled over so I asked him if they had sold many of them and he replied "not at all". Well that kind of surprised me, I figured they would sell well since they are the newest thing out there. He told me that everyone that comes in to buy one looks at it then looks at the display wraith sitting next to it and then walks out with a wraith. At least they did, he had to sell the display wraith after he ran out of boxed units. Just thought that was funny.

I dunno, The twin hammer looks kinda cool. I made my wraith into a class 3 crawler. I might pick a twin hammer up for a rack racer type build. i was thinking about doing that with the hpi mini trophy. but this guy is made for it already.

hobby shop that i was in recently pushed the exo pretty hard and didnt have much to say about the vaterra. i was like i like the solid axle and independend front.
mistaken identity may kill it since the wraith and exo already have such a strong following

most people i see in hobby shops have no clue what they want or need on most anything.

then about 80% of hobby shop employees havent a clue whats going on

I've been looking into the twin hammers pretty heavily. I've pretty much adopted my neighbors 13 year old son. He has been going out crawling with me and loves it. The kicker is all his buddy's are racing trophy truck type RC's. I figured the twin hammers would be a good mix of both worlds. He could go and stomp on all his friends and then be able to go out with me and at least climb some moderate stuff.

I was recently on the fence about getting a Twin Hammer, I came across a video on YouTube that showed a size difference. The hammer is kinda on the small end.
The wraith is Much bigger. Just something to consider.. It's still looks pretty fun to drive though.

I have 3 Wraiths and an EXO but I'm still looking at getting a TH just so I can race with my son but still play on the rocks. Or I may just hack the EXO and combine with a AR60 and create my own. As for hobby shops I must agree that "most" employees are completely clueless. Just stopped at a new HTUSA yesterday, they had 3 RTR Axials but NO parts for them and when I asked if they would stock parts if there was demand and he had to call someone for an answer. His reply was they can only special order them. Lol

I saw one in person and I have to say I was impressed with the performance of the thing it flat out works the one thing I think that you would want to replace is the drive shaft it was kind of weak but other than that is was pretty tough.

LOL exactly... there is only one guy working in the RC section of our LHS... He knows a lot about all types of RC but other places eh not as much...

One time my bro was looking at cameras at Costco for fun while my mom was shopping... And the worker at Costco came over and was telling him that he should get a Canon so my brother asked why he thought so and the guys like cause their lenses are white :lmao: It's like umm ok Dumbass first of all you obviously don't know cameras (and my bro knows a lot about SLRs) second why get a camera just for the color of lens... I mean seriously the white ones are only their high end telephoto lenses  just goes to show you can't always trust the sales people...

I have 2 friends with Twin Hammers and have seen them run and was impressed. The suspension system was the real kicker for me with the cantilever front and that badass solid rear axle, so buttery smooth, couldn't stop messing with it.

Plus it is a shift on the fly 2 speed which is pretty cool.

I would put it in the 12th scale size range which would work perfect for racing rally and trophy trucks like the hpi. They should make a trophy truck body for it also, I bet people would like that.

If I had the coin I would put it down on one. Plus my friends have beat the crap out of theirs and I haven't heard of any breaks, that's a good thing.

No having to buy $1000 dollars worth of hop ups so it doesn't break in the first run.

I looked at the Twin Hammers at the LHS and I also thought it was small. I have to admit that it was still tempted, but that sealed the "no buy" deal for me. It's cool but i've got a Wraith already and I figure i'll spend the money on something else. I agree though it is cool, just to small.
