vf dig wear and tear...

i've had my vf dig installed and run in my truck now for one comp and maybe 4 other crawling sessions. i believe my epas are set up right on the money. i haven't pulled the tranny and dig out yet for inspection since install so i'm wondering what type of wear and tear is normal for these digs. rounded off machined edges to the internals? etc...

issue i just noticed was with the truck powered off, battery disconnected, and the dig left in 4 wheel drive, i noticed when i turned the rear wheels of the truck the dig seemed to disengage and go into somewhat of a free spin rear. it did this a couple of times and since it's been sitting i've picked it up from time to time and turned the wheels to see if it would do it again and it did not. the motivation really isn't too high right now to take the tranny and dig apart to inspect... thank you for any ideas...

Mine has near 0 wear, but I often check the linkage and my EPA's. Probably every 3 packs at a maximum.

tell you what when i had mine set up with the servo on there mount mine sliped alot so after i moved the servo and ran it hard, im talking slam into dig and 4wd at full throtle all the time, and the last time i took it apart i had 0 wear:shock: at all thats even with it slipping before.

thanks guys. i'll check my epa's again. i fine tuned the epa's by listening for noise coming out of the servo. i don't have any problems at all running the truck with either 4wd or dig. when i'm running the truck and flip back and forth between 4wd and dig it holds at all times with no slipping out. if i just run 4wd without ever using the dig it holds at all times. i've put my truck through a lot of strain and i have had no problems at all running it. the issue that happened was with no power going to the truck, truck being held in one hand, and the other hand spinning the rear wheels. that's when it slipped out of 4wd. like i said though, running it has shown no signs of slipping what so ever.

Where did you relocate your servo to? I'm currently building up a crawler with the VF dig unit, and it seems pretty sticky when I shift it by hand without the servo connected in the stock location.

That's because the servo wasn't powered up to hold it engaged.;-)
