I've been steered towards VP Knuckles over slugs but now I'm trying to do a comparison... I originally liked slugs in that you could easily pop-in more out of a pack to add weight out of the 8 packs you buy. So I'm trying to figure a good cost effective initial buy for the brass knuckle system. This is a comparison for myself & othes considering options. Is my math correct?

8 pack of slugs $28 (cheaper ones $16)
VP .6 Bullet Weight Set for 2.2 wheels(8ea.)
28.9x8= 231.2 grams of weight to play with

brass knuckle set $80
XR-10 Brass Knuckle Weight
92 grams

Brass add-on rings
VP Knuckle Weight Add On Rings
Item Includes 2 rings.
Need to order screws separate.
1/8 Rings weigh .69oz each ring. .69x2 = 1.38oz (or 39.1grams) $15.99
1/4 Rings Weigh 1.38oz each ring. 1.38*2 = 2.76oz (or 78.2grams) $20.99

231-92 = 139 gram difference between slug package and base brass knuckle set

139/39 = `3.5
139/78 = `1.8

So if you buy brass knuckle set, to get the same amount of weight to play with as a slug set you're looking at:

1) base knuckle set $80
+
3 x 1/8 knuckle sets $48
OR 4 x 1/8 knuckle sets $64

$128-142

2) base knuckle set $80
+
2 x 1/4 knuckle sets $42

$122

*******************

So on the 3 different routes to get about the same weight to play with....

slugs $16-28
base brass knuckle + 1/8 add-on route $128-142
base brass knuckle + 1/4 add-on route $122

LOL

As was I trying to figure out how many, if any , extra rings I should buy if I went with knuckles...

I guess it should be noted by front axle mounting your battery you throw more weight forward thus lessen the about of knuckle weight you'd need most likely... which I'll be doing for weight and easy access.. plus it looks cool "thumbsup"

I would say, after switching from slugs to knuckle weight, you will use/need less weight. Your are typically dropping quite a bit of weight just getting rid of Dh wheels, and switching to slws or something similar.

I used to run 3-4 slugs in my DH's, and then 5ozs per knuckle with slws.

Now, going lighter, I'm shooting for 2-3 ozs per knuckle on my lighter weight setup. Drop as much weight out of your rear, them weight front for the bias you want.

went from DH's to SLW's and went with vp knuckle weights and 3 pkgs
(vps02811) of the medium rings, worked out to be .03 per side less than DH's no slugs. you can fine tune from there."thumbsup"
