I have hobbywing wp sc8 120a that I want to use on my yeti but the xerun 4274 motor is too long. What motor do you guys think I can use with this esc? How about turnigy trackstar 2100kv?

As long as your esc and motor are rated for 4s you should have no issues. 2100kv will be fine on 4s. I'm running a Tekin 2500kv on 4s.

Iv been running my skyrc pro4 S 3000kv on 4s and it works awesome. It's a 550 can with 30mm stator. It's a powerhouse. Rcjuice has them for 49.99. I'm real happy with it and iv ran a pro4 hd next to it.

I run the same esc.. It will definitely run 4s.. I would just look for a motor that fits and a low kv around 1800-2200... I run 3s and a 4000kv motor.. It will go as fast as you want it to..

I guess it depend on what u are looking for. If it's speed a 3000kv on 3s will be faster than a 2100 on 4s. If it's trail runs and sower stuff then lower kv gives u more torque and longer run times. I was running a pro4 hd on 4s and liked it. When I got the 2 speed I went with a 3000kv and dropped a pinion tooth. No heat issues an runs about 45,000 rpms. I don't do long speed runs but I do race it and trail it. I'm not a basher. I recommend the motor I did bc for the price it's been amazing. Can tell any diffence from the $150 tekin I have too. and for sure sensored is the way to go.

Thanks for the information! But looking at this motor, it shows the max of 2S to 3S. Can you run 4S on it?

I have for 6 months or so with no issue. Most motors are rated at 50,000 rpm and on 4s it's 44,000 or so. A 2500 works well on 4s. I ran my tekin pro4 hd 2500 for 2 years. From the motors you posted sounds like your looking for a budget friendly motor. Would I buy another one. Yes they are awesome. Way more than I expect.
