Does anyone run a warn winch with a heyok 4a controller? The rc4wd wireless controller lets the winch spool out as soon as I leg go of the button which drives me nuts! I am debating just going to servo winch but the look of the warn winch on the front of my trucks is just awesome. I am considering trying the heyok 4a controller because it applies a brake when not used. My only question is will it hold the truck if I stop it on a steep incline?

I know I could just use the rc4wd winch as a fairlead for the servo winch but I don't want to do that.

You should clarify your questions. In your op, you are asking about the operation of a heyok winch controller. Now you want opinions. The best source for info is to search the forum, as this was brought up recently, or to contact Al, as he knows his products best. Also, this doesn't pertain specifically to scx10 chassis, so it should have been started in newbies section or electronics.

That's what I wrote it's pretty clear. I want to know from people that use this setup if this works. I never said I want opinions. I'm not a newbie I'm asking about a specific setup. I posted in the Scx10 section because it is by far the most popular truck these winches are used on.

I have used a 4a heyOK two-position winch controller with the older RC4WD winch and the newer Warn version. Both worked great. I had micro-dean plugs soldered on the winches and on the controller so I could use one controller in multiple rigs.

I run RC4WD Warn winch with Al's (HeyOK's owner) wiring harness. I added the softstart feature to mine and i run it off my 4PLS's 3rd channel three position switch and it works great. It doesnt creep or continue to spool on my set-up. Little pricey but it was worth it to me. I didn't want to add the remote gig to my set-up. Wanted to control all of it with and threw my transmitter. Send him a PM with your needs and the dude will set you up. He is really helpful and knowledgeable guy.

Heyok's controller is great, would advise against the Warn winch, have gone through 2 motors / gear sets so far. My rig is not very heavy. Currently looking for new winch options.

I run a warn 9.5 winch with a 4a heyok controller... I use a 4pl radio, run 3s lipos...no issues at all and my jk weighs 9.5 lbs....
