Anyone done a Redcat underdrive cnc gear install? Even if it was in a gen 8?

Not sure how well the gear mesh will be? Or recommendations for shims

Any help or advice is very appreciated

I bought a set for the front and rear

Ok like gus on YouTube I put the underdrive gears in my Wendigo yesterday.

You can take the pinion housing and put the spool in it center the bearings on the pinion housing and check the gear mesh. I actually used a washer on the outer side of the pinion where the driveshaft slips on between the driveshaft coupler and pinion bearing. The mesh got a little tight for my liking when the driveshaft was pushed towards the pinion bearing. But I should also note that I also installed the redcat hd metal drive shafts.

My repaired driveshaft was still holding up but I decided to upgrade and originally bought boom racing voodoo driveshafts. HUGE mistake!! The mesh gets really bad with the way they are setup.

I checked the Redcat hd metal driveshafts and they wont bind even with full travel. Were as the stock driveshaft will on the front end and also the boom racing shafts will also. The boom racing voodoo shafts are puny and have little bitty u-joints.

Hopefully the Redcat drive shafts will hold up they are a dogbone type cv but are beefy
