what color should it be? orange? or something else? ideas would be cool guys.

spent most of the day painting this guy today. took some pointers from this awesome tip sheet. Vintage Tamiya Radio Control Cars through to Modern Tamiya R/C - Home Page

Helmet and the racing suit should match the ride if he is a serious racer."thumbsup"

.

ok, so i hear orange. but i think i want to try some simple pinstripe flames. in a slightly lighter orange!

:) pics in a couple days, busy tomorrow. going to see cesar millan in person at the national a mall

If I were you I'd spray a flat clear on the body. The gloss paint make him look like plastic.

Gloss for the helmet. Orange/white/black. White base, orange design, black outline to divide the two.

good idea man. i have some tamiya flat clear in a box. i can get a coat of that on the body, and then paint the helmet with some sort of design.

+1....Totally agree with all the above."thumbsup""thumbsup"

BTW, nice job painting on a tough subject, the flat clear will make it even better.8)

how 'bout some heavy sparkle paint to like those metallic flake helmets we had when we were kids for mini bikes and go-carts?

You could still make your driver into The Stig. "thumbsup"

thanks man. had some help from a really good tutorial on tamiya club.com. just google wild willy paint, and it should come right up. there are tons of detail in this face. also put some clear on the body, didnt change it too much...

would be sweet to put a visor on this sucker i guess! but will stick with the open face for now.

painted it orange, but before i did that i sanded the whole thing with some 240 grit. really changed the texture and gives it a sweet matte finish.
