Hey,
I changed my mind. I want a full out crawler! So I don't know what gearing now. low I would think. Also a 55T Lathe motor or would something else work? :???:

Figured since the topic was brought up, I wouldn't start a new thread. But I wanted to know, Would a 45t lathe with the right gearing still produce a lot of torque? Because I kinda want to be able to have some wheel spin for when there's a good mud puddle.

Start with a 55t lathe motor... As for the gearing, are you still using the stock tranny? or do you have a Pede tranny in there?...(remember you did say "I want a full out crawler!") So get one if you don't have one.
Try to put in the largest spur gear you can fit, and match it up with the smallest pinion.

This is going to be a different strokes for different folks type of subject. I run a 87t spur and a 16t pinion its a little faster than I walk, lots o torque and wheel speed... Oh yea I have a 55t and a pede tranny...

Yeah I am using a Pede Tranny. The highest spur gear I found was 100T and the lowest pinion gear I found was 9T. I don't plan on that low, does this seem good, 92T spur and 10T pinion?
