^^^ I'd rock those!

....I still wear my original low top Jazz Vans, wore out as F@€k, but still rolling.

....Want something comfy for the summer, check out Sanuks...been wearing them for about 5 yrs now...

Im 27 and going into zumies and pac sun is a little odd for me too,i dont wear skinny jeans, dont like 10 gallon baseball hats, and dont like shirts with 100 tiny ak47's all over it.....basically i dont like to dress like lil wayne:lmao:thats the style it seems those stores are going for.im Goin through the same problem here!!! i have one heel just a little bit smaller then the other so i gotta try shoes first........BUT NO ONE SELLLS SKATE SHOES.after the economy took a s*#t all the little skate shops went out of buisness around here.
i have a pair of DC versaflex's and they are awsome but they are getting small so now im on the hunt but cant find any stores that DONT ONLY have hipster DC's.
i still ride bmx and dj mountain bike(26" bmx) so i still love the big pillow feeling skate shoes.like what has been said, dans comp, ccs,or the company themselves"thumbsup"

I bought a pair of the newer vans lxvi shoes that I'm liking pretty well. They seem to be just a hair narrow if you have a wide foot though

Check out a pair of Teva Links. Pillow skate shoe look, ridiculously comfy, and stick to platform bike pedals really well. I have a pair for mountain biking and love them.

In terms of casual shoes...I've always been a fan of Vans. The Chukka Low's are an extremely comfortable shoe and hold up well too. Currently I have a pair of these and like them:

etnies Jameson 2 Eco - Zappos.com Free Shipping BOTH Ways

To OP:

Do you actually skate? Or just like wearing skate shoes?

About 5 years ago I bought 6 pairs of skate shoes. They're starting to show their age and I have been trying to find some new ones. I've gone to tillys, pacsun, board garden, zoomies, zappos, kohls, sports authority, big 5, factory brand shoe outlet, foot locker etc... and they all look ghey:cry: All I want is some plain white/grey/black skate shoes. My favorite was the DC command and they're discontinued:cry:

Here's two companies that make skate type shoes, hiking, climbing, and mountain biking. "thumbsup"

Try the Five Ten brand

Five Ten

or

Teva is now making some sweet looking shoes that I need to try:

TEVA® | Water Shoes, Flip Flops, Sandals & Hiking Shoes

Design your own Vans Custom Shoes "thumbsup"

Too narrow for me, they would be great if the made a D or little wider and had the nice round forefoot area like a Teva or 5.10. FiveTen used to make a shoe called the Ba5ic in black canvas and it was awesome! The 5.10 Ba5ic had a flat insole so I could put a Birkenstock 3/4 length arch support in and then they kicked azz...I have high arches so need good insoles. Having hard to fit feet is a pita, when I find a good fitting shoe, I stock up and wear two pair....rotate every other day back and forth, they last a lot longer this way get a chance to air out between wearings. :)

I hate the foam stuff pillow bs, it just makes my feet sweat and smell even worse than they do normally lol. If you want that feel, just wear a thicker sock like DeFeet Wooleator low or high top....or DeFeet Woolie Boolie: http://www.defeet.com/59813/Socks.html I like minimal padded shoes with the Wooleator summer or winter, great cushion, keeps your feet warm/cool excelllent moisture wicking, and long lasting.

The SHipwrecked looks interesting, how wide are they?

Looks narrow...only high tops?

...I can never find anything locally I like though. So I figured out my size in the brands I like and buy them on ebay. Last pair of pro specs I got for 45.00 shipped, "if" I could find them at a retail store were over 100.00.

So try Ebay and you might find what you are looking for....

That's my problem too, but the hard part is figuring out what size you wear when nobody locally carries the shoes I like.

I use to wear skate shoes everyday, first it was etnies, they sucked every pair I owned the front would fall apart in 6 months the way I wore them, then I got vans, I like them but the die made my socks bluish black. Then I finally got sick of them, and I went and started wearing Georgia boots, I have never looked back since, skate shoes use to look cool and be worth the money, now they are sometimes 120$ and they suck, I can get a pair of Georgia Romeos for 60$ and they last a hell of a lot longer than skate shoes. My message is, skate shoes suck and Romeos are better "thumbsup"

I have a pair of DC's that I have had for 3 years they are just now starting to get blown out. They are the ken block editions. If I don't wear them I wear my redwings.
