Hi everybody,

I was just wondering what type of upgrades (especially from Hot Racing, since I like that stuff) would you knowledgeable girls and guys recommend for the ambitious hobby pilot (not a full time competition pilot). Honestly I mean I know a lot of us want World Championship Competition parts, but honestly I will never make it to a big competition but I'd like my rig to be well build, and good looking yet reliable.
What I really mean is: I don't need CNC adonized stuff where plastic does exavtly the same job.
So here the detail from my rig to start with (pictures to follow), anyone notice I love carbon? :)

2 TEKIN FXR speed controls
  • Castle Creations BEC with Castle Link to program voltage
  • Castle USB Programmer
  • 2 HOLMES HOBBIES 55T Torque Master Expert motors with custom timing from Holmes
  • 1x SAVOX SC 1268SG High Voltage High Torque steering servo
  • 1x CKRC 11.1v 1300mah 35c Lipo battery
  • Axial Stage 1 High Clearance Links
  • Axial Stage 2 Carbon Fiber Chassis kit
  • Axial Carbon Fiber Battery Plate
  • Axial Carbon Fiber Electronics Plate
  • Racers Edge Aluminum servo Horn
  • Vanquish Products Wheel Weights
  • Hot Bodies Rover White Dot Tires
  • Crawler Innovations NOVA 2 Stage Tire Foams
Those where my ideas:
Hot Racing Axial XR10 Crawler Alum HT Steering Knuckle
Hot Racing Axial XR10 Crawler Hard Anodized Alum. steering Plate
Hot Racing Axial XR10 aluminum rear axle hub adapter
Hot Racing Axial XR10 Added Caster Black ALuminum C Hub XR10
No idea about the gear housing and I don't get the difference between the AXR12H03 $48.88 SD big Bearing Gear box AX10
& AXR12X01 $39.88 HD big Bearing Gear box AX10
Except for the price and colour???

i know you said you like HR stuff but i would just get the Axial XR-10 Stage 1 Aluminum upgrade kit since its 96.99. the axr12ho3 is the 6mm for extra strength i assume and the other is 4mm so not quite as strong. but if it were me id just buy the axial stuff since its not that much more and you can be assured that you will get quality metal and parts"thumbsup" hope this helps a little

c hubs and thats about it"thumbsup" you dont need to brake the bank to get it nice a tough... especially if youre not gonna comp. rc4wd gears and you might be able to run everything else stock"thumbsup"

I recently built a XR10. I used HR New Big Bearing gear boxes with the motor plates,Chubs, and rear lockouts. They were all very nice quality and saved some cash over using all VP parts. I did use the VP Knuckles.

The HR c-hubs also provide a little bit more caster adjustment without any modification. The VP knuckles will give you more steering so I'd definitely recommend going with them...you'll need them.

This hobby is just like everything else in life...you get what you pay for 8)

iirc the slot for the screw is longer allowing them to be turned back one more tooth/spot, other brands require you to make the slot longer.

Got the original AXIAL ones modified for ZERO ACKERMANN

I was told that the VP knuckles were just direct replacements for the stock ones and were not zero ackerman is this true or not

Turbo s from the stock whole on the Axial knuckles how much higher did you go thanks

the vp knuckles are zero ackerman but will not work with unmodified stock wheels. when i drilled my stock knuckles for zero ack i moved the holes 6mm away center to center
