I just bought a charger, Piranha Digital Peak, and when programming to charge a battery, it asks for delta peak? I know it has something to do with recognizing when a pack is charged, but do I want lower or higher.? My one Nimh battery is a Venom 3000 6 cell pack.

It is a method of charging batteries. It detects when the pack is "full" by sensing a slight voltage drop as the pack peaks. It is generally the best method for charging packs, and is a feature that is common on most new chargers.

What charger are you using? I would say refer to your owners manual, I am sure it would have all the info on setting the peak detection.

Peak detection should be set at a .02 to .03 volt drop. You can use .01, but that low may lead to a false peak.

digital piranha uses a "mv per cell" value and nimh usually are set to 5 mv per cell. Slightly higher if the charger stops too early, slightly less if it gets the batts hot at the end of charge.
