I have tried a couple of ways . The bubble drawer mats are Ok but the way I do it now is will mesh drywall tape . It is self adhesive so i stick it to the inside body like regular masking . Spray a light mist of silver followed by a mist of black and another mist of siver -wet on wet . let it tack up and remove the tape . When dry I back it with matte black . You can alter the look by how heavey the first coat of siver is . Heavier coat will give a more metal look to it and lighter will give the darler caron look . I haven't tried it buy a very light first siver coat and black coat followed a colored coat should give a tinted carbon look . A fine first coat of brass/gold gives the look of a UV damaged clear-coated carbon fiber hood .
