What new car for $60k?

I've thought a modern rendition of a TrackT would be fun, leave it with 2 solid axles, maybe set up as truck arms and coils or coil overs in the back and some sort of 4 link and coils or coil overs out back (kind of XJ based in the front and NASCAR/60's Chevy Truck out back) wih some sort of modern, late model, domestic 4 cylinder up front.

My vote definitely goes for rebuilding something.
For me it would either be my 1)79 cutlass Hurst olds or any G-body,LS1 with a turbo (it's already got the slicks and skinnies and drag racing goodies, just not enough motor:lmao:)

2)2 of my buddies have 91 notcback mustangs, both with mildly built 5.0's and turbo's.STUPID FUN CARS!!!!! (drag/street cars)

3)a traditional custom,early 60's build.or a straight axle car"thumbsup"

4)Or the real answer your looking for,if I had to buy out of a showroom it would easily be the hellcat!!!! And if any extra Mulah came around,I'd throw it on some weld rts wheels with skinnies up front and m/t drag radials out back "thumbsup" .
Yea I'm kinda in to drag racing:lmao:

If I had $60,000 to throw down on a car, I'd probably get something like this.

4.) The new GT350 Mustang

This is so far a winner in my book. Or Scat Pack Challenger. Or maybe the Hellcat. Base with minimal option Corvette C7 is a possibility.

I'm really bummed I can't say BMW M3/M4, but they start 63k/64k so they are over budget price.

Knowing EeePee asked, I have to say the obligatory correct answer in his mind. Civic Type R. Dude a Honda with a turbo and vtec, wait until that kicks in!

I had a new Audi S4 as a loaner for a week. What a blast to drive, put my previous Subaru WRX to shame (at a price of course).

New an Audi is viable. As it ages, prepare to spend an additional 60K on keeping it running. And the sad part is, I'm not talking 10 years from new, its usually about 5 years when SHTF for Audis and why their value drops so much at the 5-6 year mark. Just depends on how long you plan to keep it I guess.

Or, look for a nice used Porsche GT2 RS used.

GT2RS used is nearly the same price it was new. $250K new, and still selling for $200K lately.

Nothing on the showroom floors does a damned thing for me. I'd pick a drive train and update an old chassis to handle in the twisties and go have fun.

A used Tesla model S. Them suckers are really fun to drive for a "family sedan", and long term upkeep is really cheap. Gear oil every 50,000 and pads/ rotors. They regen brake most of the time so the brakes wear slowly.

SRT-10 single cab Ram truck with the manual transmission. Best fun on the road!!

New car, as in brand spanking new off the lot.

Thanks for the replies though, been entertaining.

But get with the program! :flipoff:
