latley ive been serching all over for a cheep mtn bike, mainley for light trail riding and cruisen. my price range is 275 max. but so far ive seen the trek bike(209 i think), dimond back bike(327 i think), maverick(forgot the price).
is there any bikes in that price range?(275 tops).

yea yea yea i know "you wont find a realy good bike in that price range". but there ARE good mtn bike for cheep. wht do you guys think about mongues?

.

You might be able to get a used hard tail for that. Bikes are like computers, they depreciate so fast it will make your head spin. What about police auctions, pawn shops, etc? You wont get much for $275 new.

k where would i go to join a police aution?

Start by gettin arrested!!!!!!

call your local police station and seee when the auction is

As usual, I have to chime in being a former shoppie .

1. A department store bike is a poor choice. Usually, if you melt a Walmart bike down and turn it into a hammer, the nail will win.

2. Your local bike shop employee is paid by the hour, not by the piece for bikes assembled. He/she also doesn't assemble lawn furniture.

3. Go to a local bike shop. Don't buy mail order, don't buy off eBay. It is very easy to get hosed if you don't know what you're doing.

4. ANY BIKE FROM A SHOP THAT IS ~$300 IS GOING TO SERVE YOU MORE OR LESS THE SAME. These are "bread and butter bikes" that help shops survive.

5. Visit your local shop, ask them what they have. You're at the end of the 2007 model year, and might find some deals in late August, or early September, especially if you are freakishly large or a midget.

You probably have to be an adult to purchase at police auctions anyway..............so it wouldn't serve you any good.
