The U.S. is not #1 anymore has been thrown around alot in this thread. While I agree were are not #1 anymore. What I'm trying to figure out is

who if anyone is anymore.

I don't follow what many countrys do around the world. I know the big players (democracy country's) try to help out around the world. In this I only personally see the U.S. side of it.(sorry I live here).

I don't follow economics much either even though I should.

What my stoned blababling a$$ is trying to say is.

What do we base are decision on. Who helps around the world most I.E. trying to make life better for all or who has the most money and the best economy.

Examples: The U.S. dose alot of humanitarian work around the world as well as fight other peoples wars (even though we should stick to our own most the time:mrgreen. But are economy is falling out the dollor is droping.


China on the other hand. There economy is booming there yen is raising but they have a bad humanitarian crisis and don't have many what we call HUMAN RIGHTS cause there country trys to control there people.

So whos number 1


I personally think we need to stop playing onesy and twosy give all people in all the world the same rights what ever that maybe.

The rest of the world has caught up with us, and in some respects passed us up.

People still come here from the world over to attend our colleges, but our public schools rank very poorly.

We have made great advances in medical care, but we are some of the most unhealthy people on the planet.

A great deal of money is traded on our shores, but a large amount of our wealth is held by a very small amount of people.

The fact you guys are running around fighting wars other places too, "Policing the World" as it were. Since the RCMP are your most recognizable Police force up there I just used them.


I still think the US Government should stop sending all the aid funds it does to other countries, then see how much they really hate us. Hell, we might be able to clear some debt even.

So I would like to know which place so many of you people think is so much better than the US? I am not bragging on the US just trying to find out who you think is so great? Seems to me the whole world is having issues right now...........

For those paying attention China is a ticking time bomb. From manipulation of the currency, to actual manufacturing starting to decline as well as exports, to the social issues a big one of which is a male population many times larger than the female population, to owning debt that will be worth no where near it's cost, China has some major issues facing it. Most European countries are in even worse shape than we are economically, Russia is having major control and power issues dealing with the return of a USSR type government.

So who in all this turmoil is so great that we must turn our heads in such envy?

Plus who in the US has been denied life saving medical help? Anyone, anyone, Bueller, Bueller?

i dont think anyplace is #1..i just think you guys should pull your heads out of the sand and try to see beyond your back yard as for china manipulating their currency look up quantitative easing..very dangerouse and it may not work..your govt is selling you out..big tax breaks for corporations that then moved production of thier goods overseas:roll:..g.e. for instance..right now they give big tax breaks to wal mart type store so in return they can supply a bunch of minimum wage jobs:roll: thats the dirrection its going

i wish it truely was a democratic govt..... to a point. I think all the excess that the govt has gotten involved in over the last 100 years would not exist, but on the flip side I think we'd never get anything done, because as we see nobody ever agrees and lately, who ever whines the loudest wins"thumbsup"
