Wheel nuts constantly loosening

Every time I take my bomber out the wheel nuts are loose in about 5 minutes, how do I fix this? I have Incision wheels, and I'd like to be able to use the hub caps, but with my wheel nuts constantly coming undone, it doesn't seem like a good idea.

If you didn't have incision wheels I'd say to get shift hubs and toss the slw's in the trash but incision have their own bolt patters so you're stuck with finding so sort of band aid. I've ran doubled regular nuts before jammed up against each other to lock them in place. Loose wheels are irritating.

Two things usually cures this problem...

1. New locking nuts.
2. Before putting the locking nuts on, clean the axle with alcohol.

I've tried that, the nuts still loosen.

If you used it with a nylon lock nut then it will do the opposite. Plastic and locktite refuse to cure, and the plastic gets soft.

So if you are using them currently try changing them out.

How old are the nuts? Nyloc nuts are technically not supposed to be reused. Buy new lock nuts. The Traxxas serrated lock nuts are some of the best.

Red loctight dose works on plastic ive repaired striped plastic threads with locktight and its worked fine for me you just have to let it cure
Infact my transmission in my wraith one of the 4 original parts left is still plastic the holes striped out years ago i use red loctight every time i take the screws out and i have yet to have one come loose or fall out

If your locknuts are coming loose, then you've got a different problem. Something between the wheel & axle/spindle assembly isn't seating properly or isn't tightening correctly, and this is causing the nuts to back off. I had a similar situation when I swapped to a new set of wheels. In my case I discovered that the raised center section of the Bomber wheel hex was preventing the hex from seating fully into the wheel. I had to replace the Axial hexes with a more conventional aftermarket hex. I would carefully look over your assembly to see what the root cause is.

I typed this almost auto correctly free

Double nuts, the second one without the flange. And replace the nylocks on a regular basis if you change your wheels often.

Same problem I had on my Bomber. I eventually bought Shift hubs, which eliminate the 12mm hex, and my problem went away.

Those shift hubs do look nice, if only i heard of it before buying VP hubs and VP clamping hexes...[emoji52]
