In the past I've ran steel wheels like SSD's on my wraiths mostly because the price point and they look good, but I've been kinda worried that with the Yeti doing a lot more jumping that I might bend a rim. Was hoping to hear from y'all running steel wheels for some input or should I just go machined aluminum? Thanx.

I'm running Axial Walker Evans IFD's(cannibalized from my bomber spare parts)... They are much stronger then the Axial Methods, and the same weight. So far I'm extremely happy with them.

Love my GearHead beadlocks! Aluminum lock rings, delrin wheel.

Hang up and Drive

I found the steel wheels to be too heavy and help contribute to me snapping rear axle shafts. I just switched from SSD, great wheel, to Axial walker Evans beadlocks. They are much lighter. If I were you I would just go with the cheap Axial beadlocks or something light

Thanx for the replies. For now I ordered the vanquish hub kit for the stock bead lockers.

Anyone running proline wheels?

Proline Denali 2.2s here, only installed and a few circles in my basement. They look nice but no real driving yet.

My buddy runs SSD steel beadlocks on his basher yeti, broken damn near everything at some point except for the wheels. I wouldn't be afraid to bash them

Ok thanks for the feed back. I ordered some vanquish methods from RPP they were only $55 a pair instead of $86

I have the SSD steel wheels in my Yeti and Bomber, both used for U4 and no bends. Those wheels are strong. Don't worry about bend them.
