Where have the comp crawlers gone??

I know it's a little late but keep on your quest for a real crawler. Don't settle for a Wraith etc..JMO. If you want a crawler, buy a crawler. Wraith and other Axials are more for scaling and bashing, with the exception of the XR-10, that is once again available. I couldn't sell my Wraith quick enough lol. You can purchase the 2nd. gen.Berg, Bully II, and the XR-10 is back, to name a few. They're out there. I was in the exact same boat and I'm very glad that I kept up the search because I did find a comp crawler. I'm still going to convert the chassis to the incredibly awesome viper. So, to anyone who may be in the same quest...keep up the search and don't settle. I heard a few people mention DLux and his site has so much awesome stuff for crawlers. That's where I found the Viper II chassis. With all that said, I really do like Axial and own a Honcho. I love it! There is so much you can upgrade and it does some mild crawling but I use it for trail scaling and it's a blast, but my passion is rock crawlers. The few I listed are MOA's. There are a bunch of shafty's out there too. Good luck everyone and have fun!

Where do you see the XR10? It is posted as Discontinued at Axial's site.

Is this the Berg you are talking about?

So iv been away from the game for 3-4 years now and now come back to this.... this talk of shafties that can approach the performance of an MOA. It has me intrigued though I must admit doubtful.
Really I wont believe it till I see it..so lets see it...

My MOA can go almost vertical against a wall and not flip backwards, and can have the front axle/wheel completely 90deg and not flip over sideways. Not to mention that I have 2 motors and can control them individually so is infinitley better that any DIG unit, and has double the power/torque over anything that has 1 motor. Unless a shafty can do those things then its already behind.

I would like very much if someone could post a link to a video of a shafty that would impress me or give a real MOA a run for its money?
If they really exist then show me.
Can anyone put my foot in my mouth?

Otherwise long live the MOA, king of the crawlers! Hurahhh!

get the word out, organize
+1 yes we all love our MOA's "thumbsup"
I'm back after 7+ yrs also.
After my berg build in 2011 my buddies were heavy into scalers, so I built 2, a 1.9 scaler and a 2.2 comp, yea it's fun, but Definitely not that Huge Smile and Oh yea shout out you get when you climb the impossible with your MOA.

I'm sure shafties have come a long way, but will never do and come close to performance and fast as a MOA.
With my mini buggy Super working again, tuning my Berg and now into my 1.9 scaler copy of my 1:1 I'm rally just excited to join others in crawling.
It's all about the crawler fun regardless of crawler type

My thought and suggestion, get out there to comps, share, socialize it's likely that a MOA comp would be created again.

Question tough
after reading the SORCCA rules about not allowing visables weights
Where do you put your weights? are we stuck with putting them back inside our wheels?

I have been working on my scaler and really liking the performance of weights on my axles. then read I cant have them :x:

WHY IS the BERG or MOA section Deleted in the Forums ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Look in the Heritage section

Hang up and Drive

Brass knuckles and scale brass brake drums seem to be the norm, and yea weight inside the wheels is always an option still.

Actually with small tuning of moving your weight lower you can achieve Full Vertical without falling backward.

I'm Fully enjoying my Berg again, doing some updates and mods, replacing the old style of brass knuckles over the OTA knuckles from rc Bros and modifying wraith brass knuckles to fit.

Regarding scalers, I havent seen any toyota axles, which in on my 1.9 1985 4Runner copy of my 1:1 thus there is no brass weight knuckles to fit. so I may machine some. But why, Driving a scaler over pebbles is No where Near driving up Rock walls and over 4" wide cracks in rocks with my BERG! it continues to blow me away.

Driving scaler= that looks neat
Driving a MOA = Holy cow I wouldn't believe it climbed that if I hadn't seen with my own eyes!
