Thinking about getting back into the hobby for some light fun and no heavy modding. Want to buy two RTR trucks to play with the kids in our yard and setup some small obstacles. Considering a wraith 1.9 and either a Cherokee, Jeep or Deadbolt RTR as the second.

Not familiar with the new AR44 single piece axles so not sure of the benefits. Which two vehicles will compliment each other best?

The 1.9 Wraith is all SCXII below the cage so any SCXII variety will be comparable.

The 1 piece axle are kinda a personal preference, some people hate them and others prefer them. Personally, I had no issues with 2 sets of 1 piece housings in my trucks.

A quick rundown:

Pros
-Smaller axle tubes for more clearance
-C-hubs can't strip splines and rotate
-More scale looks
-Link mounts are molded in so no screw holes to weaken the axle tubes

Cons
-If you break a c-hub, you have to replace the housing
-Can't upgrade to aluminum c-hubs
-Front and rear housings are different so the number of spare parts to keep increases

As far as which RTR SCXII, I think the Blazer is the best deal since you get metal trans gears, universals, steel links, and the best looking body for $350. If it has to be one of the 3 you listed, then I'd pick the Cherokee since it has much of the same parts for only $20 more and can be upgraded to metal trans gears with part # AX31585 for only $7.

All of the Axial RTRs are great trucks. Just pick the one with the body you like the most. "thumbsup"

Unless you have a pile of rocks 3ft high most of these 1/10th scale rigs are too capable for at home. I have tried making courses but they Handel them too easily. I kinda want a 1/24th scale rig for around the house.

These Rock's are each over a foot tall and my trx4 handels them with out spinning a tire. There is no challenge at all.

The good thing about the trx4 bronco though is it has 2 speeds, so you can have fun with speed and faster obstacles as well. Kids probably just want to go faster any ways.
